Parky swipe at 'self-obsessed' TV hosts

The TV 退役軍人 said most of his fellow interviewers tried to be too clever with their guests.

He told the 無線で通信する Times: "So much interviewing these days is about the presenter - I'm a clever boy, I'm going to be smart with people; or it's trivial - how do you like your eggs boiled? We give them the 尊敬（する）・点 of having thought about the interview. And what you don't see on other talk shows is that interaction and 共同 の中で three guests."

Parkinson, 70, 攻撃する，衝突する 支援する at critics who have （刑事）被告 him of giving his interviewees an 平易な ride.

"I'm still there - how many people have been doing their 職業 for as long as I have?" he asked.

"All the smart ar*** and the people who ask 堅い questions - where are they now? We're not interviewing war 犯罪のs or paedophiles, we're interviewing 芸能人s.

"What's the sense in trying to pin them to the carpet with a 一連の brusque questions which, やめる 率直に, will get you told to eff off?"

Parkinson's main 競争相手 is Jonathan Ross, who has his own 雑談（する） show on BBC1.

But he 賞賛するd Jeremy Paxman, John Humphrys and Richard Madeley for their interview techniques.

The presenter famously 行為／行うd a 悲惨な interview with Hollywood actress Meg Ryan, in which she 辞退するd to answer his questions and ignored fellow guests Trinny and Susannah.

Parkinson joked: "We 令状 each other fan letters on a 週刊誌 basis almost. And I say to her: 'Dear Meg, please come again, Trinny a nd Susannah are really looking 今後 to seeing you'."

He 追加するd: "Listen - it happens. She was an unhappy woman. I felt sorry for her. I think she was tired, she didn't want to do it. What I couldn't 許す her for was that she was rude to the other guests."

Parkinson's ITV1 show is returning for a new series with guests 含むing Ricky Gervais, Antonio Banderas, Matt Lucas and David Walliams.
