For all her 課すing glamour, iconic style and encyclopaedic knowledge of the fashion world, Sarah Jessica Parker is the most 負かす/撃墜する-to-earth of girls.

As soon as I walk into our interview, she's graciously 申し込む/申し出ing me a glass of water, asking after my 旅行 and encouraging me to pull my 議長,司会を務める closer to hers so we can 雑談(する) intimately. It was as if she was welcoming an old friend 支援する into her home.

最終的に, of course, it is Sarah's formidable social 技術s that has attracted so much 賞賛 and won her a legion of admirers.

But along with her perfectly preened looks, she's also quirky, わずかに ぎこちない and すぐに likeable. Perhaps the 推論する/理由 why she is so in 需要・要求する.

Her features, so unconventionally striking on the TV 審査する, are surprisingly fluid and pretty in the flesh.

With her brown hair swept 支援する 明らかにする/漏らすing sparkling blue grey 注目する,もくろむs and 肌 as smooth as cream cheese, she looks in excellent 形態/調整. As does her career.

'I am not running away from Carrie'

After all those goings-on as Carrie Bradshaw in the racy Sex And The City, Sarah's carving out a new career to 証明する her versatility as an actress.

And 取り組むing the 役割 of straight-laced Meredith in the new Christmas film The Family 石/投石する was her chance to try out new characters, not just new shoes.

"The thing is, it was a really hard 決定/判定勝ち(する) to end Sex And The City and the 推論する/理由 I ended it was I was very happy there and I would have stayed forever," she explains.

"I was very comfortable, I was very 満足させるd creatively and I was 明白に 井戸/弁護士席-paid. Those were some of the very 推論する/理由 why I thought I should do something new and challenging.

"I am not running away from Carrie, I really don't feel 重荷(を負わせる)d by the image of what she was. As an actor I 手配中の,お尋ね者 to do something different.

"I really 手配中の,お尋ね者 to play Meredith because she's so different from anything I've done. She's so rigid and intractable and so unfamiliar with interpersonal 関係s.

"Carrie was 絶えず deconstructing, she was so curious, loose and comfortable."

'It would be 不適切な to dress like her'

Still, she says it was hard to leave the comfortable support 網状組織 that the Sex And The City 申し込む/申し出d. Her 上昇傾向 トン oscillates, and suddenly becomes wistful.

"I 行方不明になる the people and our 関係s and 狙撃 in New York the way we did, " she reminisces.

"A film 始める,決める is like a brand new 職業. New people, new 環境s, new wardrobe people. You know the things you love and got accustomed to are gone."

So no more incredibly gorgeous designer freebies then? "On movies it's like the honour system, like the library. You take outfits out in good 約束 and return them, and then you get to borrow more."

While designers clamoured to have Sarah wear their 着せる/賦与するs on the show, she says she is far いっそう少なく of an exhibitionist than her Manolo-loving alter-ego Carrie.

"She was a far いっそう少なく modest person than I am. I'm 基本的に someone who wears more 着せる/賦与するing than Carrie," she laughs.

In typical guileless style, she 追加するs: "I'm a married person and it would not be appropriate for me to dress the way she did."

'I believe in the idea of marriage'

Unlike the poor, disheartened Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah has been happily married to actor Matthew Broderick for eight years. They have a two-year-old son James.

Incredibly, the glamorous actress has taken the 概念 of 連合させるing motherhood with career to dizzying new 高さs.

に引き続いて the 圧倒的な success of Sex And The City, she has 追加するd modelling, a new perfume and an exciting film career to her CV.

She 占領するs that strange place that is not やめる A-名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) and not やめる B-名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) celebrity. But Sarah 保証するs me she not 利益/興味d in the high-octane social life. She loves coming home to her family.

She beams at any について言及する of her husband and son.

"I don't want to appear 権利 ous about my marriage, it's just that ours has worked for us to this point. I believe in the idea of this marriage.

"I tell my friends married life is boring, but that's just a fun thing to say to make 選び出す/独身 people feel better."

'I didn't date much'

No 疑問 it helps that both have careers that have worked out 井戸/弁護士席. It must lend to the family's 安定.

"Our lives outside this 産業 are really 実行するing. My husband has this 驚くべき/特命の/臨時の career which is very enviable. He feels very content and 満足させるd and I am too."

So what about before she settled 負かす/撃墜する into marriage bliss? It's 井戸/弁護士席 known Sarah was romantically 伴う/関わるd with Robert Downey Jr and singer Joshua Kadison in her 選び出す/独身 days.

Sarah 主張するs she didn't lead Carrie's active dating life.

"My life was very different when I was 選び出す/独身. It wasn't nearly as colourful and it certainly wasn't as busy. I was in 関係s for a long time."

Talk of 関係s brings us 支援する 一連の会議、交渉/完成する to the film - her character Meredith is brought to her boyfriend's New England home to 会合,会う his bohemian parents for the first time. He 計画(する)s to 提案する but the family すぐに dislike her uptight, big city 態度. 圧倒するd by the outwardly 敵意を持った 歓迎会 she gets, she calls on her sister, played by Claire Danes, for emotional support.

I wonder if in her own life she's ever had to 対処する with the sort of 敵意を持った 治療 Meredith 苦しむd.

"No - at least, not to my 直面する," she says with a giggle. "There may have been some awful things said behind my 支援する and I may have earned that. But I didn't date a lot so I kept my 半端物s pretty good by just not 会合 very many parents."

Sarah, seems very un-Carrie - almost goody two shoes. I can't help but think her 関係 with Broderick has 耐えるd because she has never prized her career over family - an 態度 that seems old-fashioned の中で celebrity circles nowadays.

Or would she consider upping sticks and moving to Hollywood in 追跡 of more fame and fortune, or even to London for that 事柄?

"You'd have to drag us kicking and 叫び声をあげるing," she smiles.

"I can't imagine a time in my life when I'd want to leave New York City. I don't like things to ever change and my whole family is in New York.

"Matthew was born and raised there and I would be very hard 圧力(をかける)d to imagine us living else where but it sure is nice to visit London."

She says she will only shoot films accessible to their 心にいだくd hometown of New York City.

And 権利 now, she's 簡単に looking 今後 to returning to New York to spend Christmas with her family.

"I love Christmas, not for any 宗教的な 推論する/理由s. I just happen to love it and we always celebrate Christmas with my family and I'll be with my son and my husband in the morning.

"Then we'll go to my parents house and cook and eat and open 現在のs for hours and go home feeling stuffed and over-indulged and start counting 負かす/撃墜する the days until next Christmas."

I heave a sigh. Here is a woman with a wonderful family, exciting career, fame and fortune and glamour その上 - her 'have it all' 態度 is awe-奮起させるing.

I leave wondering if Sarah could ever put a strappy-sandalled foot wrong.
