Flood-廃虚d WA 橋（渡しをする） to be rebuilt six times stronger
A bigger, stronger 橋（渡しをする） will be built over the Fitzroy River after once-in-a-century-flooding in Western Australia's Kimberley washed away its 前任者, cutting a 重要な 輸送（する） 大勝する.
WA 大臣 for Planning Rita Saffioti says the new 橋（渡しをする） on the 広大な／多数の／重要な Northern 主要道路 at Fitzroy Crossing would be 100m longer and twice as wide as the old one, with piers about 二塁打 the depth.
"We've all seen the pictures of what happened to that 橋（渡しをする）, it means there is a 完全にする disconnection in the north of our 明言する／公表する," she told reporters on Wednesday, referring to the January flood that swept away homes, 商売／仕事s and large sections of the only road to the north of the 明言する／公表する.
Ms Saffioti said the new 橋（渡しをする） would be 270m long, four traffic 小道／航路s wide, with pylons that reach about 40m into the river bed.
"What was identified was 重要な sand movement (during the flooding) and as a result the piers will need to be sunk deeper," she said.
The 大臣 said the new structure would be six times stronger than the old 橋（渡しをする） and be able to 扱う a one-in-2000-year 天候 event.
"It's 存在 用意が出来ている to withstand far greater events than occurred in the past three months," she said.
The WA 政府 has 調印するd a 契約 to build the new 橋（渡しをする） with a 国際借款団／連合 of three companies once the design and planning are finalised.
Work is also under way to relocate 遠隔通信 cables and water and 汚水 麻薬を吸うs built into the old structure.
It's hoped some 乗り物s would be able to travel over the new 橋（渡しをする） by 中央の-next year.
In the 合間, road freight to and from the north of the 明言する／公表する must travel 経由で a much longer and 高くつく／犠牲の大きい 大勝する using the Stuart 主要道路 in the Northern 領土 and South Australia.
Smaller 乗り物s are crossing the Fitzroy River using a 船, but it is understood to be 調書をとる／予約するd out until after 復活祭.
The WA 政府 is also working to open two low level river crossings, with the first for small 乗り物s almost 完全にする and 始める，決める to open in April if the water level continues to 減少（する）.
A second two-小道／航路 crossing is also under construction 150m upstream of the old 橋（渡しをする） to cater for higher traffic 容積／容量s, 含むing road train and 歩行者s.
Main Roads WA hopes to open this by May for 接近 across the river during this year's 乾燥した，日照りの season, when tourists flock to the 地域.
