Junking Centrelink's 古風な computer system could save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars, 総理大臣 Tony Abbott says.

"The 古風な system ... is costing us tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars in 付加 costs because data has to be re-entered manually time and time again," he told reporters in Perth.
"We need to have a proper computer system which is 有能な of 確実にするing that people get paid in a timely way ... and that all of the 行政 is as efficient as it かもしれない can be."
Social Services 大臣 Scott Morrison said when the system was introduced 30 years ago about two-and-a-half million people received 支払い(額)s.
