'荒廃させるd' ホッケー opens defamation 事例／患者
Joe ホッケー says 告発する／非難するing 対抗者s of lies and hypocrisy is part of the rough and 宙返り／暴落する of politics, but he was 絶対 荒廃させるd by a newspaper headline that said he was a "treasurer for sale".
Mr ホッケー took the stand in the 連邦の 法廷，裁判所 in Sydney on Monday for a question time very different to his usual Canberra experience - 証言するing in his defamation 活動／戦闘 against Fairfax マスコミ over articles his lawyers （人命などを）奪う，主張する 含む／封じ込める "scurrilous and 誤った" 主張s about 接近 and 影響（力）.
Mr ホッケー told the 法廷，裁判所 he was 荒廃させるd by articles published in Fairfax's Sydney Morning 先触れ（する） and Age newspapers on May 5, 2014 under the headline "Treasurer For Sale".
The stories 診察するd a political fundraising 団体／死体 in Mr ホッケー's 選挙民, the North Sydney 会議, where members who paid an 年次の 料金 were able to 会合，会う the treasurer at special events.
Mr ホッケー told the 法廷，裁判所 he learnt of the articles 経由で a call from his 圧力（をかける） 長官 just after midnight on the day of 出版（物）.
A few hours later, he saw the 前線 page stories at his Canberra newsagent and in his 正規の／正選手 morning パン屋.
"The papers were everywhere," he said.
Asked what he thought the stories said about him, Mr ホッケー replied: "That I'm corrupt" - which was not true.
Mr ホッケー appeared upset and scowled as he 述べるd how he was worried about the 衝撃 of the stories on his wife, his children and his 年輩の father.
In the days after the stories were published, his daughter asked him "whether someone was trying to buy me", and his father broke 負かす／撃墜する in 涙／ほころびs.
"The only thing you walk out of politics with is your 評判," he said during questions from his barrister Bruce McClintock SC.
"If, in the 注目する，もくろむs of your own family, as there was in the phone call with my father, there's a 疑問 - a 簡潔な／要約する 疑問 - then what have you got?"
Mr ホッケー's lawyers （人命などを）奪う，主張する the articles, along with newsagent 掲示s and messages published on Twitter, were published as an 行為／法令／行動する of "petty spite" after the treasurer sought and 得るd an 陳謝 for an article published two months earlier.

Fairfax's barrister Matthew Collins QC quizzed Mr ホッケー about a number of 批判的な public comments he made on Twitter and どこかよそで about political 対抗者s - の中で them former Labor 首相s Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd, 同様に as 対立 Leader 法案 縮める.
The 法廷，裁判所 heard one 2013 tweet published on Mr ホッケー's 公式の／役人 account read "接近 to Rudd, at a price ... FACT" and linked to a Sydney Morning 先触れ（する） story about Mr Rudd.
Other tweets called Ms Gillard "a 不名誉" and （刑事）被告 Mr Rudd of "repeating old lies".
"Do you consider it part of the rough and 宙返り／暴落する of political life to call your 対抗者s hypocrites?" Dr Collins asked.
"As they do me," Mr ホッケー replied.
Dr Collins asked Mr ホッケー whether the North Sydney 会議 was 始める，決める up to raise money for the MP's re-選挙運動 but Mr ホッケー said he was not 伴う／関わるd with the running of the organisation, which he 見解（をとる）d more as a 会議 for 商売／仕事 網状組織ing.
The 裁判，公判 continues before 司法（官） Richard White on Tuesday.
