Robinson pleased with Ferguson 進歩

Coach Trent Robinson believes Sydney Roosters centre Blake Ferguson is still some way from 存在 支援する to his best but (人命などを)奪う,主張するs he will be a 抱擁する 資産 to his 味方する later in the NRL season.

Ferguson crossed for two second-half tries in Monday's 20-12 勝利,勝つ over Penrith - his first 得点する/非難する/20s for the club in only his third game since ending his 追放する from the game に引き続いて his 解雇(する)ing by Canberra in 2013.

"Blake was really good when he got the 適切な時期s, I thought there was a bit more space for him," Robinson said.

"I 現実に thought our 支援する-rowers had stormers and opened up the game for him.

"広大な/多数の/重要な credit should go to Boyd Cordner and Aidan Guerra, they had really big games."

Ferguson spoke on Sunday about his 願望(する) to put his wild ways behind him and, with a child on the way, is fully aware of the consequences that will follow should he mess up off the field again.

Robinson said he's been happy with the 25-year-old's 態度 but said he's had to rein in his enthusiasm and desperation to be a match 勝利者.

"He is a little bit better in mindset this week," the coach said.

"He is so keen to play 井戸/弁護士席 for us. He's trying so hard to do everything we're asking and we're trying to 解放する/自由な him up 同様に.

"Blake's worked so hard to play for us. (Mitchell) Pearcey and Jimmy (Maloney) gave him a bit more space to 控訴 his style and we got our rewards from that."

船長/主将 Pearce said Ferguson's slotted in 井戸/弁護士席 with the 残り/休憩(する) of the squad since his arrival and his 防御の 成果/努力s were more impressive than his two tries.

"I notice him more in defence, he's always there in your ear." he said.

"Everybody knows how good he is in attack but his defence is really good.

"I didn't have much to do with him when we played in Origin as it was a short (軍の)野営地,陣営, but he's an 感染性の personality and he's in for a big year."
