Boy, 6, dies as 嵐/襲撃するs move through NSW

A father called on to help his eldest son when he got into trouble in 嵐/襲撃する-swept seas in northern NSW returned to find his younger son floating 直面する 負かす/撃墜する.

The six-year-old boy has become the sixth person killed by wild 天候 working its way 負かす/撃墜する Australia's east coast.

The boy was with his father and brother 近づく a 激しく揺する 塀で囲む at unpatrolled South Ballina beach 早期に on Saturday afternoon when his older brother got into trouble and his father swam to help.

Volunteer surf lifesavers and paramedics arrived to take over before he was flown by ヘリコプター to Gold Coast Hospital, where he died.

The Bureau of Meteorology called off a 厳しい 天候 警告 for the 地域 at 6.15pm.

"We are still 推定する/予想するing things will 緩和する off in most areas 夜通し, and the remaining areas tomorrow," 広報担当者 Phil Campbell said.

He said rain would 攻撃する,衝突する Sydney on Saturday night with the chance of 激しい downpours in the morning.
