尊敬（する）・点d 'Digger' James laid to 残り／休憩（する）
A 尊敬（する）・点d war 退役軍人 and former chairman of the Australian War 記念の has been laid to 残り／休憩（する）.
Major-General William Brian "Digger" James, who received a 軍の Cross during the Korean War and was awarded an MBE for his service as a 医療の officer during the Vietnam 衝突, died last week 老年の 85.
He was 別れの（言葉，会）d at a 私的な funeral and laid to 残り／休憩（する） on Thursday in the Anzac section of the lawn 共同墓地 in Brisbane with 十分な 軍の honours.
Australian War 記念の director Dr Brendan Nelson paid 尊敬の印 this week to the 退役軍人, 述べるing him as a 高度に 尊敬（する）・点d leader, an 支持する for 退役軍人s "and one of the most decent and honourable Australians of the 20th century".
Major-General James was instrumental in helping to 避難させる 負傷させるd 兵士s に引き続いて a land 地雷 爆発 in Korea にもかかわらず losing his foot during the 爆破.
But that did not stop him and he went on to join the cavalry before retraining as a 医療の officer.
He 命令（する）d the 8th Field 救急車 during the Vietnam 衝突 and worked as a 上級の 医療の officer with the 1st Australian 仕事 軍隊 from 1968 to 1969.
He served two years later with a British St John 救急車 医療の 救済 team at the end of the Biafran War in Nigeria, for which he was awarded the Order of St John.
During 退職 he served as the 国家の 大統領，／社長 of the RSL and was 任命する ed as chairman of the 会議 of the Australian War 記念の.
A public 記念の will be held for Major-General James at 11am (AEST) on October 30 at the Albert Street 部隊ing Church in Brisbane.
