Brown's challenge to Blues coach Fittler

Newcastle coach Nathan Brown believes Mitchell Pearce is the man to 生き返らせる NSW's 明言する/公表する of Origin fortunes - but only if the maligned playmaker is given a 十分な licence to 運動 the Blues on his 条件.

Brown 問題/発行するd his challenge to NSW coach Brad Fittler after Pearce guided Newcastle to a hoodoo-破産した/(警察が)手入れするing first 勝利,勝つ over South Sydney in eight years and 10 matches to continue their 素晴らしい NRL resurgence.

Man of the match in all six matches of Newcastle's longest winning streak since 2005 when Andrew Johns was calling the 発射s, Brown believes Pearce has strong (人命などを)奪う,主張するs for a 劇の Origin 解任する.

"If they want a 支配する half, I would 示唆する that Pearcey would be the person you'd want - but only if you let him be a 支配的な half," Brown said after the Knights' 20-12 勝利,勝つ at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.

"I look at Mitch as a player who has to do play on play. If your style of footy is go and stand on one 味方する of the field and not 二塁打 up on plays, they may 同様に let Pearcey sit in the lounge room.

"If they want a partner who is going to 支配する the ball and then say '料金d Cody Walker', I'd say Pearcey's your man."

Brown dubbed Walker an 不公平な scapegoat for NSW's series-開始 18-14 loss to Queensland on Wednesday night.

Fittler 麻薬中毒の the Blues' debutant five-eighth 中途の through the second half before bringing Walker 支援する on in the の近くにing minutes as the Blues 猛烈に chased points at Suncorp Stadium.

早期に talk is that if Fittler makes any changes for game two, he will 減少(する) Walker and spare halfback Nathan Cleary.

"Cody Walker's been a bit 厳しく dealt with, if I'm 存在 truthful with you," Brown said.

"He did create a try and a couple of line breaks in a 味方する that didn't create many line breaks and many tries.

"So I thought he's been a bit stiff, the way people have talked about him. Origin's a 堅い 商売/仕事, giving blokes one game and giving them a hard time is probably a bit 堅い on them, I reckon.

"In my opinion, they've got two five-eighths playing. I think young Nathan, at this 行う/開催する/段階 of his career, is more like a five-eighth than a halfback.

"That's just my opinion, I might be wrong. And two five-eighths can work together, if that's what you want."
