Greens want PM to follow SA on plastic 禁止(する)

The Greens are calling on the 連邦の 連立政権 to follow South Australia's lead and 禁止(する) plastic cutlery, straws and drink stirrers.

The 自由主義の 明言する/公表する 政府 is 草案ing 法律制定 for public discussion to 禁止(する) 選び出す/独身-use plastics in South Australia and hopes to introduce 法律s next year.

"SA is continuing to lead the nation and 始める,決める the 協議事項 in recyclables and waste 管理/経営," 明言する/公表する 環境 大臣 David Speirs told the Adelaide Advertiser.

"We led the way with our コンテナ-deposit 計画/陰謀, we were ahead of the pack on plastic 捕らえる、獲得する 改革(する), and now we will lead the country on 選び出す/独身-use plastics."

The 明言する/公表する will later move to 禁止(する) polystyrene cups and polystyrene takeaway コンテナs, but no 決定/判定勝ち(する) has been made yet on plastic 捕らえる、獲得するs, coffee cups and plastic takeaway コンテナs.

South Australian Greens 上院議員 Sarah Hanson-Young says this is a really good move by the Marshall 明言する/公表する 政府 and is to be congratulated.

"I call on (総理大臣) Scott Morrison to follow South Australia's lead," she told reporters in Adelaide on Saturday.

"Across the country we need to be 段階ing out 選び出す/独身-use plastics and getting serious about waste 削減 and 再生利用するing."

She said Australia has been ダンピング its plastics in the Asia-太平洋の 地域 for far too long.

She will be 令状ing to the 首相 on the 問題/発行する and says the Greens will be introducing a 法案 into the 上院 to 禁止(する) 選び出す/独身-use plastics when the upper house next sits in late July.
