With little food and no way of 接触するing the outside world, Michael Bowman hunkered 負かす/撃墜する in 氷点の Tasmanian wilderness for more than a week waiting to be 設立する.

The 57-year-old from Mt Waverley in Melbourne had 始める,決める out on a 単独の bushwalk in the Lake St Clair 地域 in 早期に July.

"He was unable to relocate his pack and spent a night in the 冷淡な.

"The next day he traced his footsteps 支援する ... and made it 支援する to his テント where he has been for だいたい the last nine to 10 days."

Mr Bowman, an experienced hiker, couldn't 始める,決める off his 緊急 beacon because it was in his lost pack and 選ぶd stay in his 情熱-coloured テント.

It was spotted from the 空気/公表する and he was winched to safety.

Mr Bowman gave a thumbs up to マスコミ and seemed in good health when he landed in Hobart, where he has been taken for 予防の 医療の checks.

It followed a three-day search, which began after the alarm was raised when he didn't finish his 引き上げ(る) on Saturday as planned.

"Without the experience that he's had in alpine trips in Victoria and also in Tasmania, it's likely we would have had a very different 結果," 上級の Constable Eyles said.

"This is a 広大な/多数の/重要な reflection of Mr Bowman's 技術 and experience that he's done the 権利 thing and waited there to be 救助(する)d.

"I reckon he would be looking 今後 to a steak."
