Scientists develop five-minute COVID 実験(する)
Australian scientists have developed a saliva 実験(する) that can (悪事,秘密などを)発見する COVID-19 in five minutes.
The portable 実験(する)ing 装置 uses infrared light to (悪事,秘密などを)発見する the ウイルス in saliva 見本s, and scientists say it could be 有能な of 審査 5000 people a day.
In 予選 実験(する)ing, the 審査 装置 was able to 正確に (悪事,秘密などを)発見する the ウイルス in 27 out of 29 患者s.
But the 研究, led by Monash University and the Doherty 学校/設ける, is only up to 'proof-of-概念' 行う/開催する/段階, so it may be some time before 'brain tickler' nasal swabs are no longer needed.
The 打開 装置 uses infrared light to interact with the vibrations of 分子s in saliva 見本s, 生成するing a unique 化学製品 指紋 which is then analysed using machine learning algorithms.
Because the 装置 作品 so quickly, it is hoped it can be used for 審査 at airports, stadiums, universities and schools, 同様に as to triage 患者s for その上の COVID 実験(する)s.
によれば Professor Bayden 支持を得ようと努めるd from Monash University, the 装置 is 急速な/放蕩な, cheap, and 平易な to use, and 減ずるs the 感染 危険 for 患者s and healthcare 労働者s.
Professor 支持を得ようと努めるd did much of the 初期の work on the 装置 at the Australian Synchrotron in Melbourne.
Professor Damian Purcell from the Doherty 学校/設ける said the new 実験(する) 避けるs the 不快 of nasal swabs.
"A person can 与える/捧げる the 見本 by 簡単に dribbling into a sterile コンテナ," he said on Friday.
"The result can be derived in いっそう少なく than five minutes and a 早い result minimises the 延期する in 決定するing if 検疫 is 要求するd, therefore minimising the 危険 of その上の spread of 感染."
類似の infrared techniques have been used in the past to (悪事,秘密などを)発見する malaria and 肝炎.
The 研究 was carried out with the University of Melbourne, The 王室の Melbourne Hospital, the Dublin 学校/設ける of 科学(工学)技術, the University of Strathclyde, Elettra-Sincrotone Trieste, and the Area Science Park Trieste.
The findings were published on Friday in the 主要な German chemistry 定期刊行物, Angewandte Chemie.
