NZ ticks off Janssen ワクチン for use
New Zealand is sticking with its Pfizer-only COVID-19 ワクチン接種 戦略 にもかかわらず 認可するing a second 製造業者 for use.
Regulatory 機関 Medsafe has 認めるd Janssen 一時的に 是認 for its coronavirus ワクチン to be 治めるd to Kiwis 老年の 18 and over.
"The 医療の 証拠 shows Janssen is a very 安全な and 効果的な ワクチン. It is a 広大な／多数の／重要な 新規加入 to our ワクチン 選択s," COVID-19 大臣 Chris Hipkins said.
New Zealand has an 前進する 購入（する） 協定 for two million doses of the ワクチン, which 要求するs just one 発射.
However, the 是認 won't change the 政府's 意向 to immunise all Kiwis with the two-発射 Pfizer ワクチン.
"While our 計画（する） remains to ramp up the roll-out using the Pfizer ワクチン from here, having the 選択 of the Janssen ワクチン 増加するs our choices and 供給するs us with 柔軟性 if we need it," Mr Hipkins said.
"As a 選び出す／独身 dose ワクチン, it may be useful in hard to reach 場所s or 緊急s, or for those who cannot get the Pfizer ワクチン."
Australia, Canada and the USA have also 認可するd the Janssen ワクチン.
