1.8 million left or lost 職業 in COVID year

A year of COVID-19 不確定 has stopped many people from 職業 hopping, while others have given up on finding a 職業 because they can't afford or 接近 child care.

Australian Bureau of 統計(学) data on 職業 mobility 解放(する)d on Wednesday showed 975,000 or 7.5 per cent of 雇うd people changed 職業s, the lowest 年次の 職業 mobility 率 on 記録,記録的な/記録する.

Some 1.8 million people left or lost a 職業 in the year to February 2021.

Almost 140,000 have given up looking for work because they can't get affordable child care, 圧倒的に women.

It was harder for men to switch 職業s, with mobility 負かす/撃墜する from 8.4 per cent to 7.5 per cent, compared with women at 7.8 per cent, up from 7.6 per cent.

The 占領/職業 group winning the largest 増加する was accommodation and food services, with mobility now 17.1 per cent compared with 14.3 per cent before the pandemic.

But sales 労働者s, and 専門家技術者s and tradies, were いっそう少なく able to 職業 hop.
