Doctors to train in helping 強姦 犠牲者s

Doctors and nurses will be trained by 専門家s in how to 答える/応じる when 患者s 公表する/暴露する 性の 暴力/激しさ, in an Australia-first course to 開始する,打ち上げる next month.

The course, developed by Monash University, will be 申し込む/申し出d to hundreds of health 労働者s, 含むing in 地域の and 田舎の areas, over the coming 18 months.

The training will teach 労働者s how to identify 危険 factors for 性の 暴力/激しさ and to 答える/応じる to 公表,暴露s in appropriate and culturally 極度の慎重さを要する ways.

関係者s will also learn about the prevalence and drivers of 性の 暴力/激しさ, and the 衝撃s on individuals and the community.

The academic who led the 開発 of the training, Associate Professor David 井戸/弁護士席s, said for many 犠牲者s life never returns to normal after an 強襲,強姦.

"The physical, emotional and social 衝撃s can be 残虐な and 手足を不自由にする/(物事を)損なうing, and the 損失 is not 限定するd to the 犠牲者," he said in a 声明.

"There can be long 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 消極的な 衝撃s to the next 世代, to communities, and wider society."

He said there had been a lot of work done to 改善する frontline 労働者s' understanding of 国内の 乱用, but there was "限られた/立憲的な 認識/意識性" of how to recognise and 答える/応じる to 公表,暴露s of 強姦 in ways that support 回復.

The course was developed 儀礼 of a $4.5 million 認める from the 連邦の 政府, part of a 国家の 活動/戦闘 計画(する) to 減ずる 暴力/激しさ against women and children.

大臣 for Women's Safety Anne Ruston said it was "決定的な" that 公表,暴露s of 性の 暴力/激しさ were 扱うd with care.

"This training 武器 healthcare professionals with that 専門的知識," she said.

She said it was important that the training covers how to identify 医療の 贈呈s and 診断するs that may be 指示する人(物)s of 性の 暴力/激しさ, 許すing medicos to 介入する sooner and support 犠牲者s.

The course has been 信じる/認定/派遣するd by the 王室の Australian College of General Practitioners, the College of 緊急 Me dicine and the College of 田舎の and Remote 薬/医学.

The first of its three six-hour 部隊s debuts next month and has already reached enrolment capacity.
