Vanessa Nakate, a 24-year-old Ugandan 行動主義者 who (選挙などの)運動をするs for 気候 司法(官) for 攻撃を受けやすい communities is helping to spread the 需要・要求するs of developing nations with her simple but 効果的な スローガン: "We cannot eat coal".

The maxim is designed to call out the seemingly insatiable 投資 from 政府s and 会社/団体s in the very 化石 燃料s science says must become obsolete ーするために 突き破る off 気候 災害.

"There are so many things I would love to do, but I think it would be stopping 投資s in 化石 燃料s 事業/計画(する)s, because we cannot eat coal, we cannot drink oil, we cannot breathe gas," she told AFP on the sidelines of a 青年 気候 首脳会議 in Milan this week.

"If someone really cared about the lives of the communities, the people who are 直面するing the worst of the 気候 危機, then true leadership would be stopping 投資 in 化石 燃料s 事業/計画(する)s."

For Nakate, 気候 change is at its heart an 問題/発行する of 不平等 and i njustice.

The 広大な 大多数 of 惑星-warming 炭素 放出/発行s have been pumped out by just a handful of rich emitters.

Conversely, it is 攻撃を受けやすい communities in the developing world -- 特に in Africa and Southeast Asia -- which are already grappling with the extreme flooding, 干ばつ and 嵐/襲撃するs supercharged by 全世界の heating.

"The people and communities the least 責任がある the rise in 全世界の 放出/発行s are 直面するing the worst of the 気候 危機 権利 now," she said.

Nakate, a 商売/仕事 管理/経営 卒業生(する), has taken 事柄s into her own 手渡すs, using her Rise Up Movement to 開始する,打ち上げる the "Vash Green Schools" 事業/計画(する) to 任命する/導入する solar パネル盤s and green ovens in 田舎の schools to 取って代わる 伝統的な -- but 惑星-unfriendly -- 支持を得ようと努めるd-解雇する/砲火/射撃d stoves.

But she 収容する/認めるs the 事業/計画(する) is but a 減少(する) in the ocean ーに関して/ーの点でs of what is needed, and Nakate believes nations that got rich off of oil, gas and coal, should 支払う/賃金 countries that are blameless for 気候 change to green their grids.

In 新規加入, she is calling for a 献身的な 基金ing 機械装置 for 気候 "loss and 損失", which is likely to be a 重要な 審議 at the 来たるべき COP26 UN 気候 首脳会議 in Glasgow.

"Loss and 損失 is here with us 権利 now and leaders and everyone else must 認める that and start thinking about 供給するing 財政/金融 for loss and 損失, 供給するing 財政/金融 to the communities that are experiencing this 権利 now," said Nakate.

"There are 確かな things we cannot adapt to. "We cannot adapt to 餓死, or 絶滅, or lost tradition, or lost history."

She 収容する/認めるs to 存在 "圧倒するd" by the attention she receives at 気候 集会s (at the Milan event she was the second attraction after only Greta Thunberg).

But 支援する home in Uganda she is able to go 支援する to 存在 "more or いっそう少なく unrecognisable", which she says she prefers.

にもかかわらず the 悲惨な 警告s from scientists and the 欠如(する) of 活動/戦闘 from world leaders to 演説(する)/住所 全世界の warming , Nakate says she is 楽観的な about the 未来.

"It's hope that really 運動s me to keep 需要・要求するing for 気候 司法(官)," she said.

"If there were no hope, then I don't think I would be doing it."
