中国 公約するs 'fight to the end' to stop Taiwan independence
Chinese Defence 大臣 Wei Fenghe on Sunday 警告するd those "who 追求する Taiwanese independence" would come to no good end
中国 will "fight to the very end" to stop Taiwanese independence, the country's defence 大臣 公約するd Sunday, stoking already 急に上がるing 緊張s with the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs over the island.
The 超大国s are locked in a growing war of words over the 自治d, democratic island, which Beijing 見解（をとる）s as part of its 領土 を待つing 再統一.
たびたび（訪れる） Chinese 航空機 急襲s 近づく Taiwan have raised the 外交の 気温, and on Saturday US 弁護 長官 Lloyd Austin （刑事）被告 Beijing of "destabilising" 軍の activity, in a speech to the Shangri-La 対話 安全 首脳会議.
Defence 大臣 Wei Fenghe 攻撃する，衝突する 支援する in a fiery 演説（する）／住所 at the same event, 説 Beijing had "no choice" but to fight if 試みる／企てるs are made to separate Taiwan from 中国.
"We will fight at all cost, and we will fight to the very end," he told the 首脳会議, which brings together defence 大臣s from Asia and around the world.
"No one should ever underestimate the 解決する and ability of the Chinese 武装した 軍隊s to 保護（する）／緊急輸入制限 its 領土の 正直さ."
"Those who 追求する Taiwanese independence in an 試みる／企てる to 分裂（する） 中国 will definitely come to no good end," he 追加するd.

Wei 勧めるd Washington to "stop smearing and 含む／封じ込めるing 中国... stop 干渉するing in 中国's 内部の 事件／事情／状勢s and stop 害（を与える）ing 中国's 利益／興味s".
But he also struck a more 懐柔的な トン at points, calling for a "stable" 中国-US 関係, which he said was "決定的な for 全世界の peace".
During his 演説（する）／住所, Austin 強調する／ストレスd the importance of "fully open lines of communication with 中国's defence leaders" in 避けるing miscalculations.
The pair held their first 直面する-to-直面する 会談 on the sidelines of the 首脳会議 in Singapore on Friday, during which they also 衝突／不一致d over Taiwan.

大統領 Joe Biden, during a visit to Japan last month, appeared to break １０年間s of US 政策 when, in 返答 to a question, he said Washington would defend Taiwan 軍事的に if it was attacked by 中国.
The White House has since 主張するd its 政策 of "戦略の ambiguity" over whether or not it would 介入する had not changed.

にもかかわらず the 高くする，増すd 緊張s, 分析家s said the fact Austin and Wei were willing to 会合，会う in person 申し込む／申し出d a small 調印する of hope.
"Talking is better than not talking," Ian Chong, associate professor of political science at the 国家の University of Singapore, who is …に出席するing the 首脳会議, told AFP.
"But I think at this point, we won't be seeing any 打開s. Maybe it'll lead to something in 未来."

While the 超大国s 貿易（する）d blows, there were more 肯定的な 調印するs for Australia and 中国's 緊張するd 関係 as the countries' defence 大臣s met for the first time in three years.
Richard Marles held 会談 for over an hour with Wei on the sidelines of the 首脳会議, which wrapped up Sunday.
Relations had grown frosty of late over 問題／発行するs 含むing Canberra's call for an 独立した・無所属 調査（する） into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, with 中国 答える／応じるing by 課すing 関税s and 混乱に陥れる／中断させるing more than a dozen 基幹産業s.
In a change of トン to the 集会's geopolitical s parring, Fiji's defence 大臣 警告するd that the biggest 脅し 直面するing his country was 気候 change, rather than 衝突.
"Machine guns, 闘士，戦闘機 jets, ships... are not our 最初の／主要な 安全 関心," Inia Seruiratu said. "The 選び出す／独身 greatest 脅し to our very 存在 is... human-induced, 破滅的な 気候 change."
