For soloist Dmytro Popov, a special concert for ウクライナ共和国 on Friday at New York's 主要都市の オペラ will be a solemn but 必須の occasion to remind people that one year on, the war is far from over.

The Ukrainian tenor said the evening will be いっそう少なく of a "業績/成果" and more so a "really good time to remind people that the war is still going on, that we still have to support, that we still have to solve this problem."

Popov, 42, spoke with AFP in between rehearsals ahead of Friday's concert of "Remembrance and Hope," which is cosponsored by the 永久の 使節団 of ウクライナ共和国 to the 国際連合 and Lincoln 中心.

The Berlin-based Popov has built a successful international career for 井戸/弁護士席 over a 10年間, tak ing on some 35 作品 across major オペラ houses, 含むing 最近の 業績/成果s in London, Vienna and Hamburg.

But he's 直面するd trying moments over the past year, 含むing when his mother 苦しむd a 一打/打撃 a few weeks after the 侵略 and was unable to get 治療 予定 to 欠如(する) of 薬/医学.

Popov said he's been feeling "more emotion" when he 成し遂げるs now, but that he must keep it in check ーするために work.

Friday will にもかかわらず be a moving occasion, 定評のある Popov, who will 成し遂げる as a soloist in Mozart's Requiem.

He'll be joined by South African soprano Golda Schultz, Canadian mezzo-soprano Emily D'Angelo and bass-baritone Vladyslav Buialskyi -- a member of the Met's young artist 開発 program, who is also Ukrainian.

The concert will additionally feature Beethoven's monumental Fifth Symphony, which was associated with the 連合した struggle in World War II.

"Mozart's Requiem is to remember the innocent 犠牲者s of the war, and Beethoven's Fifth is in 予期 of the victory to come," Met General 経営者/支配人 Peter Gelb said in the 公式の/役人 告示 of the concert last month.

For Popov, who doesn't sing much Mozart, the requiem "is like praying for our souls that died," he said.

"So many people die every day and every night."

He will return to the Met in the 近づいている 復活 of "La Traviata," a Verdi classic, playing Alfredo, a part he has done many times.

Popov sees オペラ -- rather than taking up 武器 -- as his best means to help the war 成果/努力, because he can 勧める support for ウクライナ共和国 when he travels for his 業績/成果s in places like Madrid, Paris or London.

He has 陳列する,発揮するd the Ukrainian 旗 at the end of 業績/成果s in those places and others.

"It's better to be here and be an artist, a high-質 artist, so I can remind everyone that I'm from ウクライナ共和国," Popov said. "Our country really needs some support from the EU and the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs and 広大な/多数の/重要な Britain."
