In a schoolroom, young Liberians take it in turns to draw an image 表明するing what they 恐れる most as they become 適格の to 投票(する) for the first time.

One of the 18- to 25-year-olds 描写するs a man on the ground, 涙/ほころびs rolling 負かす/撃墜する his 直面する, as his 隣人 stands over him 持つ/拘留するing the 罪,犯罪 武器.

The 恐れる is never far from the surface in a country scarred by 支援する-to-支援する civil wars.

Between 1989 and 2003, the 衝突s in the West Africa nation left more than 250,000 people dead.

Liberians will 投票(する) in 大統領の and 議会の 選挙s on Tuesday, in what the main 政党s have 誓約(する)d will be a 平和的な 過程.

But the 殺人,大当り of three people on Friday in 衝突/不一致s between 支持者s of the two main 政党s have fuelled 恐れるs.

"What is 暴力/激しさ?" asks Nehemiah Jallah, 24, who is behind the initiativ e 目的(とする)d at 促進するing peace.

He is 主要な the workshop 存在 held at a school in the city of Buchanan, about 150 kilometres (just over 90 miles) east of the 資本/首都 Monrovia.

"暴力/激しさ is when you 軍隊 somebody to do something," one of those listening 答える/応じるs.

"It's when you are 捜し出すing to do 害(を与える)," 示唆するs another.

Jallah pulls no punches in telling his young audience seated at 木造の desks to stay (疑いを)晴らす of any form of 暴力/激しさ.

"Know that when 暴力/激しさ 増大するs, buildings will be destroyed, innocent people will be killed," he said.

"I don´t know which 政党 you are from, but make sure to 投票(する) 平和的に and do not do it with 暴力/激しさ.

"As Liberia is 平和的な, so let us 持つ/拘留する the peace of Liberia during and after the 選挙."

Some of the first-time 投票者s wonder how they should behave in the event of (人命などを)奪う,主張するs of cheating during the electio n.

The discussion is lively.

On the 塀で囲むs of the room, posters 支持する 非,不,無-暴力/激しさ with messages such as "Liberia needs me so I must keep her 安全な from 暴力/激しさ".

"The 法廷,裁判所 is the best place to solve 選挙 論争s", reads another.

More than 60 パーセント of Liberians are under 25 years old.

"政治家,政治屋s are trying to use you because they know that you are more 攻撃を受けやすい," said Lawrence Sergbou, who introduces himself as a 青年 行動主義者 to the audience.

Johnson has 脅すd a popular 反乱 if the 与党 manipulates the 選挙s.
