Over a トン of elephant ivory 掴むd from poachers in Uganda and 価値（がある） over a million dollars has itself been stolen from 政府 strongrooms, 報告（する）／憶測s said Monday.
大統領 Yoweri Museveni has ordered 調査 into the ivory stolen from the Uganda 野性生物 当局 (UWA) armoury, with staff 恐れるd to be working with the very traffickers they are meant to stop to steal and sell on the 押収するd tusks, the 政府-owned New 見通し newspaper said.

The 政府's UWA has 認める that 1,335 kilogrammes (2,943 続けざまに猛撃するs) of ivory is 行方不明の from 恐らく 安全な・保証する 備蓄（する）s, which 公式の／役人s 概算の to be valued at some 1.1 million dollars (880,000 euros).
"Our 知能 部隊 staff, while on 決まりきった仕事 健康診断, discovered some 不正行為s in the 管理／経営 of the 蓄える／店 where 押収するd ivory is kept," UWA said in a 声明.
調査s have begun "立証するing the physical 在庫／株s against the 記録，記録的な／記録するs," it 追加するd.
Poaching has risen はっきりと across Africa in 最近の years fuelled by rising 需要・要求する in Asia for ivory and rhino horn, coveted as a 伝統的な 薬／医学 and a status symbol.

"We hope there will be an 調査 and that the 犯人s will be identified and 起訴するd to 論証する かかわり合い to 野性生物 保護," Scott DeLisi said.
UWA 長，指導者 Raymond Engena said the 機関 "remains committed to the fight again 違法な 野性生物 貿易（する） and poaching," and 公約するd to "punish and 起訴する any 犯人s engaged in 違法な 貿易（する）."
But 選挙運動者s said the lost ivory was a 深く，強烈に worrying 調印する.
"The question is, if UWA 管理／経営 is 伴う／関わるd, then how can we be sure that 野性生物 in Uganda is in 安全な 手渡すs?" Achilles Byaruhanga, 長，率いる of the 自然保護 group Nature Uganda, told AFP.
More than 35,000 elephants are killed across Africa every year for their tusks.
