地域の 軍隊/機動隊s 奪い返す Nigerian town from Boko Haram

軍隊/機動隊s from Chad and Niger have retaken the northeastern Nigerian town of Damasak from Boko Haram as part of a 地域の 不快な/攻撃 to 戦闘 the 交戦的なs who have 誓約(する)d 忠誠 to the Islamic 明言する/公表する group.

Boko Haram had held the town 近づく the Niger 国境 since November, part of a 列 of 領土 it had 掴むd in Nigeria's northeast, where the group's six-year 暴動 has been based.

"The 不快な/攻撃 has 許すd for 支配(する)/統制する to be taken of Damasak," a Chadian 安全 source said on Monday.

によれば the source, some 200 Boko Haram 闘士,戦闘機s were left dead in the 不快な/攻撃 that began Sunday, while 10 Chadian 兵士s were killed and 20 負傷させるd.

There was however no 独立した・無所属 立証 of the 死傷者 人物/姿/数字s. A hospital source in Niger's Diffa, across the 国境 from Damasak, spoke of 33 兵士s 負傷させるd, without 供給するing their 国籍s.

A Niger 公式の/役人 in Diffa also said Damasak had been retaken after 激しい fighting.

The 不快な/攻撃, which followed a 支えるd build-up of 軍隊/機動隊s in southern Niger, opened up a new 前線 in 地域の 成果/努力s to wipe out the Islamist group, whose six-year 暴動 has spread across 国境s.

It also (機の)カム after Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau 誓約(する)d 忠誠 to the Islamic 明言する/公表する group in Iraq and Syria in an 音声部の message at the 週末.

More than 200 乗り物s, some of them with machine guns, 同様に as 戦車/タンクs, 救急車s, water タンカーs and 輸送(する) トラックで運ぶs, were seen moving に向かって the 国境 on Sunday, Diffa-based 無線で通信する 駅/配置する Anfani 報告(する)/憶測d.

More than 13,000 people have been killed and some 1.5 million made homeless in the Boko Haram 衝突 since 2009, while 最近の cross-国境 attacks have 増加するd 安全 恐れるs.

On Friday, the African Union 是認するd the 創造 of an 付加 地域の 軍隊 of up to 10,000 men to join the fight against Boko Haram.

The 地域の 連合 already operating has given 新たにするd vigour to the 以前 lacklustre 反対する-暴動 against Boko Haram.

Before the 週末 不快な/攻撃, 地域の 軍隊s had been 特に active in the Gamboru area of Nigeria on the 国境 with Cameroon. The 国境s of Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon converge in the 地域 around Lake Chad.

The armies have (人命などを)奪う,主張するd a 一連の successes in 反逆者/反逆する-held 領土 in 最近の weeks, as part of an 操作/手術 to (疑いを)晴らす and 支配(する)/統制する northeast Nigeria in time for Nigeria's 総選挙s 始める,決める for March 28.

Much of the 焦点(を合わせる) has been on Chad's 井戸/弁護士席-trained army, who have experience in 取り組むing Al-Qaeda-linked 極端論者s in Mali と一緒に French 軍隊s.

But Chris Olukolade, 広報担当者 for the Nigerian 軍の, has said the Niger and Chad 強襲,強姦s were "complementary to (Nigeria's) 現在進行中の 押し進める against the テロリストs".

Nigeria's 軍の did not 答える/応じる to messages on Monday.

With Shekau's 誓約(する) of 忠誠 to the Islamic 明言する/公表する at the 週末, the Nigerian 交戦的なs joined 極端論者s from Libya to Pakistan who have 以前 done the same.

While some saw it as a 宣伝 stunt, there were also 関心s about whether the move could 結局 lead to deeper links between Boko Haram and foreign jihadists.

Some 専門家s also said the 誓約(する) of 忠誠 to the IS group, which is also 存在 軍隊d on the 防御の in Iraq, could be a result of the 軍の 圧力.
