Afghanistan will not be 'a 重荷(を負わせる)' to US: Ghani

Afghan 大統領 Ashraf Ghani told US 軍隊/機動隊s on Monday his country would always be 感謝する to them and 約束d his country would not be "a 重荷(を負わせる)" to the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs.

Speaking to a 集会 of American 兵士s and 最高の,を越す 公式の/役人s at the 米国防総省, Ghani 繰り返して 表明するd 評価 for the sacrifices of the more than 850,000 軍隊/機動隊s who have been (軍隊を)展開する,配備するd in Afghanistan since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The Afghan 大統領,/社長 said he (機の)カム "to say thank you on に代わって of a 感謝する nation to people in this building and the larger US community for sacrificing continuously since September 11 to bring us freedom and hope."

In stark contrast to his 前任者 Hamid Karzai, who frequently 衝突/不一致d both 公然と and 個人として with his American 相当するものs, Ghani 申し込む/申し出d no 批評 and 強調する/ストレスd how much his country had 利益d from US 成果/努力s.

After thanking American 軍隊/機動隊s and 外交官s, Ghani 誓約(する)d that "we are not going to be a 重荷(を負わせる)."

"We do not now ask what the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs can do for us," he said, turning around a famous phrase by former 大統領,/社長 John F. Kennedy.

"We want to say what Afghanistan will do for itself and for the world. And that means we are going to put our house in order."

Ghani also 表明するd thanks to "the American taxpayer" for 供給(する)ing Afghan 開発 援助(する), and said his 政府 was "committed to account for every 選び出す/独身 one of those dollars and pennies."

Ghani's approach -- 含むing his 公約する to fight 汚職 -- has been 温かく welcomed by 大統領 Barack Obama's 行政, which grew 失望させるd with Karzai's tirades.

Ghani's four-day visit is 存在 given a high 優先 by the White House, which is eager to show the Afghan leader that Washington is ready to remain a 献身的な partner even as the US 軍の presence 拒絶する/低下するs.
