The 戦う／戦い for Mosul: what we know
Iraq 開始する，打ち上げるd a 幅の広い 不快な／攻撃 to 奪い返す Mosul from the Islamic 明言する／公表する group a week ago. Here is what we know so far about the country's biggest 軍の 操作／手術 in years:
What have Iraqi 軍隊s retaken?
連邦の 軍隊s operating out of the main 行う／開催する／段階ing base of Qayyarah have taken dozens of small villages south of Mosul and are working their way up the Tigris Valley.

After an 初期の 押し進める by the Kurdish peshmerga, 連邦の army and エリート 反対する-テロ行為 軍隊s have taken over the east ern 前線, where they have retaken 列s of the Nineveh plain.
They ひったくるd 支援する 支配（する）／統制する of Bartalla, a Christian town only about 15 kilometres (10 miles) east of Mosul, and are fighting to take 十分な 支配（する）／統制する of Qaraqosh, 以前は the largest Christian town in Iraq.
On the northeastern 前線, a large （軍隊などの）展開，配備 of peshmerga have taken several villages from IS and are の近くにing in on Bashiqa.
The US-led 連合 says it has carried out 32 空気／公表する strikes on the area in a week, 配達するing more than 1,700 軍需品s that destroyed 136 IS fighting positions, 18 tunnels and 26 car 爆弾s.
How are Iraqi 軍隊s 成し遂げるing?
Neither the 連邦の 政府 nor the 自治権のある Kurdish 地域 解放（する） any 人物／姿／数字s for their dead and 負傷させるd, but both 味方するs are taking 死傷者s.
However, Baghdad, the Kurds and the US-led 連合 supporting them with 空気／公表する strikes and 助言者s on the ground have said 早期に 伸び（る）s 越えるd 期待s.
Kurdish leader Massud Barzani has あられ／賞賛するd what he 述べるs as excellent 調整 with the 軍隊s from Baghdad, にもかかわらず a running political and 予算上の 反目，不和.
The 押し進める for Mosul, IS's last major 要塞／本拠地 in Iraq, has been 延期するd on many occasions and all 味方するs have had ample time to learn from previous 操作／手術s and 罰金-tune their 戦う／戦い 計画（する）s.
How are the jihadists 答える／応じるing?
While an ますます pragmatic IS has been more inclined than 以前 to 落ちる 支援する when under 最近の attack, it has 機動力のある a spirited defence of Mosul so far.
The group has 抑えるのをやめるd dozens of 自殺 car 爆弾s against Iraqi 軍隊s, 明らかな ly 貿易（する）ing land it controlled around Mosul for 死傷者s の中で its enemies' 階級s.
IS has lit 解雇する／砲火／射撃s in and around Mosul to obfuscate the 戦場 for the 空中の and 衛星 資産s of its enemies, but that 手段 is having a 限られた／立憲的な 衝撃, 分析家s say.
The jihadists have also 攻撃する，衝突する 支援する by attacking Iraqi 軍隊s どこかよそで, 顕著に with a みごたえのある attack on the Kurdish-controlled city of Kirkuk and another on the western outpost of Rutba.
Those two 操作／手術s seemed いっそう少なく of an 試みる／企てる at making 領土の 伸び（る）s than a 企て，努力，提案 to stretch Iraq's 安全 軍隊s and draw attention away from their losses in the Mosul theatre.
Medics at hospitals inside Mosul have told AFP that the number of 負傷させるd IS 闘士，戦闘機s brought in from the 前線 lines has 急に上がるd over the past week.
How are 非軍事のs 影響する／感情d?
非軍事のs are already 支払う／賃金ing a 激しい price for the 不快な／攻撃, with 堅い living 条件s inside Mosul 悪化するing はっきりと and ますます paranoid jihadists stepping up repression and 脅迫.
The 普及した use of smoke -- IS has 始める，決める 解雇する／砲火／射撃 to tyres across the city, oil 井戸／弁護士席s and ざん壕s around it -- has led to an 増加する in the number of people checking in to hospitals with respiratory 病気s.
More than 7,500 people have already fled the fighting and the jihadists who 支配するd them for two years, but Iraqi 軍隊s are still 前進するing in sparsely 居住させるd areas.
That 人物／姿／数字 could grow exponentially as soon as 軍隊s reach the 境界s of the city proper and 試みる／企てるs are to open 安全な 回廊（地帯）s for the more than a million people still believed 罠にかける in the city.
