Start-up fever 支配するs young tech-savvy Indians

In the 地階 of a Bangalore building, hundreds of young Indians sit in neat 列/漕ぐ/騒動s of desks typing furiously, all dreaming of becoming the new Steve 職業s or 示す Zuckerberg.

A 4半期/4分の1 of a century after liberalisation kick-started India's 経済的な 変形, a new 世代 of young people are capitalising on their parents' hard-won 財政上の 安全 to try their luck in the risky 商売/仕事 of tech start-ups.

"It's really 選ぶing up," said Aneesh Durg, a young Indian-origin student from Chicago who (機の)カム to the southern tech 中心 of Bangalore to help develop a 装置 that helps blind people read written text.

"It's 現実に not what I 推定する/予想するd it to be. I thought that they would be a little bit behind, but they are 現実に working just as hard and there's really 冷静な/正味の stuff coming out of India these days."

More and more young people in the country of 1.25 billion people are 選ぶing to go it alone, in stark contrast to previous 世代s that valued the 安定 of 雇用 above all else.

India now has some 4,750 tech start-ups -- the highest number in the world after the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs and Britain, which it is 急速な/放蕩な catching up. Success stories 含む Flipkart, アマゾン's 競争相手 in India, and online supermarket Big Basket.

- 全世界の 製品 -

From robots and 動きやすい apps to smart kitchens and a cocktail-making machine the cavernous Bangalore office, which houses one of India's biggest start-up incubators, is a veritable ideas factory.

Every 会合 room 耐えるs a photo of a successful 科学(工学)技術 entrepreneur.

Vikram Rastogi is a ロボット工学 専門家 who 始める,決める up a small incubator 指名するd Hacklab after visiting the prestigious Massachusetts 学校/設ける of 科学(工学)技術 in 2014.

"I saw the 肉親,親類d of 金物類/武器類 work they were doing. We could also do the same 肉親,親類d of 金物類/武器類 work in India, it's just that people do not 追求する it much その上の," he explains.

"So I thought let me start with something in India and try to make 全世界の 製品 out of it," Rastogi 追加するs.

The 工学 卒業生(する) is 現在/一般に working on ways to enable drones to operate as part of a (n)艦隊/(a)素早い ーするために harness more (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状), an 使用/適用 that could be used to gather data over large areas such as the 広大な farms of Australia or Brazil.

But the path to building the next Google or Apple is not always smooth.

"When I started this we had a lot of people who (機の)カム to us with start-up ideas," Rastogi says, but he 収容する/認めるs that some give up over time often 予定 to family 圧力 to get a 給料を受けている 職業.

- New 世代 -

Sylvia Veeraraghavan, one of the millions who have migrated to Bangalore for work since the 1990s, is watching this new 世代 of self-starters with 利益/興味.

When she moved there, the city was becoming a outsourcing 中心 for Western 科学(工学)技術 companies 捜し出すing a cheap and 井戸/弁護士席 educated 全労働人口 through companies such as Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro.

"For me, for the people of my time, getting a 職業 was a very big 取引,協定. The 肉親,親類d of values that we used to have are very different from the values that people have today," said Veeraraghavan, who now 作品 for a charity after a 25-year career in IT.

She believes the rising 繁栄 of India's middle class has given young people the freedom to 実験.

"They are not constricted, or 制限するd, having to (問題を)取り上げる a 職業, or finding their next meal," she said. "They can be innovative, they can be imaginative."

It is a 傾向 that looks 始める,決める to continue -- によれば 予測(する)s, between 200,000 and 250,000 people will be working in tech start-ups by 2020, nearly 二塁打 the 現在の number, によれば ソフトウェア 産業 協会 Nasscom.

伝統的に there has been a 井戸/弁護士席-trodden path from Indian IT 学校/設けるs to a master's degree in America and then on to a plum 職業 in Silicon Valley.

But US 大統領 Donald Trump's 厳重取締 on 移民/移住 -- 含むing a 提案するd 再編する of the H-1B working ビザs often used by tec h 会社/堅いs to 新採用する foreign 技術d 労働者s -- may mean even more of India's tech 星/主役にするs 選ぶ to carve a new 大勝する to success at home.

It remains too 早期に to say what 衝撃 Trump's planned 移民/移住 改革(する) could have on India, but for Aneesh the answer is simple.

He is already 確信して that when he finishes his 熟考する/考慮するs in Chicago, he will be 長,率いるing 支援する to India not California.
