衛星 dishes have been sprouting on the rooftops of east Mosul since it was retaken from the Islamic 明言する/公表する group, who punished anyone caught with a dish with the 攻撃する.

"Now we know what is happening in the world," Mohammad Turki says as he 任命する/導入するs one in the Al-Qahira 地区.

Since Iraqi 軍隊s 追い出すd IS from the half of Mosul that lies east of the Tigris river, 居住(者)s have 急ぐd to buy dishes that the jihadists banned as they sought to 孤立する their self-宣言するd "caliphate" from the outside world.

"Today there's 抱擁する 需要・要求する," says Turki, who 任命する/導入するs up to five dishes a day. "People in Mosul were 削減(する) off from the world. We didn't know what was happening around us."

Today, the dishes have mushroomed on rooftops across the city's east and 居住(者)s have acces s to news from beyond Mosul once again.

Sarmad Raad, 26, of the eastern Shaqaq al-Khadra 地区, says 居住(者)s took 重要な 危険s to stay in touch with the outside world, 任命する/導入するing dishes on balconies and hiding them behind canvas 審査するs.

"If they caught you, you'd get 攻撃するs," he said.

Main roads in Mosul are still lined with piles of rusting dishes 押収するd by the jihadists.

Alaa, a dish salesman, says the jihadists 軍隊d antenna shops to の近くに the same way they banned anyone from carrying a 動きやすい phone.

"They would search them to make sure they weren't selling 衛星 dishes. They'd 監視する people and whip or 拘留する them," he says.

IS 闘士,戦闘機s also (警察の)手入れ,急襲d and 始める,決める 解雇する/砲火/射撃 to the (警察,軍隊などの)本部 of 地元の television 駅/配置する Al-Mawsleya.

居住(者)s say they are keen to watch the news and to 跡をつける 開発s in west Mosul, where Iraqi 軍隊s are still 戦う/戦いing to 追い出す IS from its last major 都市の 要塞/本拠地 in Iraq.

IS 掴むd Mosul in a lightening 2014 前進する across 列s of Iraq and Syria, but today the group is on the 退却/保養地.

A 親族 of Raad says television news lets him 跡をつける "which neighbourhoods have been 解放するd so we can be 安心させるd that our 親族s there are 安全な."

Others say they are after light 救済, such as soap オペラs or this Sunday's El Clasico derby between Spanish football 巨大(な)s Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"Television is entertaining, 特に comedy programmes," says Dalal, Raad's sister.

But she complains that たびたび(訪れる) 力/強力にする 削減(する)s make it hard to watch TV for long.

In Al-Qahira, Turki gathers his 道具s and 長,率いるs to the house of a family who recently returned after 逃げるing to Baghdad when the jihadists arrived in 2014.

He 始める,決めるs about making sure the dish on the roof is pointing in 正確に/まさに the 権利 direction before going downstairs to configure the TV.

People "can't 始める,決める up the dishes on their own, they need an engineer to do it, and there's 猛烈な/残忍な 競争," he says.

In the house, Mohammad, 17 says nobody was 許すd to use a TV while IS was in 支配(する)/統制する.

"We weren't here, but the Daesh 闘士,戦闘機s broke in and 略奪するd our house, even taking the TV," he says. "We're 再構築するing just about everything."

Family members smile as the 審査する lights up with Al-Mawsleya, the 地元の news channel now on the 空気/公表する again from outside Mosul.

Turki says 任命する/導入するing the dish cost just eight dollars (7.50 euros).

But Alaa says 需要・要求する has not yet 頂点(に達する)d.

"Today, although 商売/仕事 is good, it hasn't yet reached a tenth of what it was before Daesh arrived.

"People still have very 限られた/立憲的な means."
