Talia Osteen had never considered herself 特に political before the 選挙 of Donald Trump last year.

The 34-year-old musician from California was 関心d by social 問題/発行するs and often volunteered to help the homeless.

"I'm a woman, as a woman I feel under attack," she explains as she goes door-to-door to 登録(する) 投票者s in Palmdale, a Los Angeles 郊外.

"I'm married to another woman, our marriage is looked 負かす/撃墜する upon by the 大多数 in 議会, I'm ユダヤ人の and there are now people in our country 決起大会/結集させるing and 詠唱するing 'Jews will not 取って代わる us'... we're just taking a 抱擁する step backwar d as a country."

Like millions of others energized by the 共和国の/共和党の 大統領,/社長's 強襲,強姦 on the 遺産/遺物 of his 前任者 Barack Obama, and the emboldening of the American far-権利, she decided to become more closely 伴う/関わるd in what 自由主義の 行動主義者s have called the "抵抗."

And nowhere is this more pronounced than in California, an 圧倒的に Democratic 明言する/公表する that has long been a bastion of 進歩/革新的な values.

"Every time there's a 政策 決定/判定勝ち(する), California gets 攻撃する,衝突する in the gut," says Sherry Bebitch Jeffe, an 分析家 and professor in public 政策 at USC. "Without question we're looked at as the prime 軍隊 in the 抵抗."

Let's do our calls with zeal and strength, knowing that tomorrow we get to put our feet up and eat bonbons," reads a typically jaunty 解放(する) -- this one asking for 信奉者s to 集まり email Scott Pruitt, the 気候-change 懐疑論者/無神論者 任命する/導入するd by Trump to 長,率いる the 環境の 保護 機関.

進歩/革新的なs hope such grassroots activism will ひったくる 支援する the advantage from the ultra-保守的な Tea Party movement that has shaken US politics over the past eight or so years, yanking politics to the 権利 and helping 共和国の/共和党のs take 支配(する)/統制する of the 法律を制定する and (n)役員/(a)執行力のある 支店s.

"We have to reach out... so we can 回復する the House and hopefully 回復する our country," says screenwriter Ari Posner, who, like Osteen, helps 登録(する) 投票者s.
