Britain should give up 支配（する）／統制する of the Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean "as 速く as possible", the UN's 最高の，を越す 法廷，裁判所 said Monday in a １０年間s-old 列／漕ぐ／騒動 with Mauritius over an 群島 that is home to a 抱擁する US airbase.
The International 法廷，裁判所 of 司法（官） said in a 合法的な opinion that Britain had 不法に 分裂（する） the islands from Mauritius before independence in 1968, after which the entire 全住民 of islanders was 立ち退かせるd.
Mauritius and the 追放するd Chagossians 反応するd with delight to the opinion 配達するd by 裁判官s in The Hague, which is 非，不，無-binding but will carry 激しい 象徴的な and political 負わせる.
Mauritius 総理大臣 Pravind Jugnauth あられ／賞賛するd a " historic moment for Mauritius and all its people".
"Our 領土の 正直さ will now be made 完全にする, and when that occurs, the Chagossians and their 子孫s will finally be able to return home," he said in a 声明.

"The 部隊d Kingdom is under an 義務 to bring an end to its 行政 of the Chagos 群島 as 速く as possible, その為に 許すing Mauritius to 完全にする the decolonisation of its 領土."

"It is a big victory against an 不正 done by the British 政府 for many years. We people have been 苦しむing for many years -- I am so lucky today," he said.
The ICJ opinion comes as a 素晴らしい blow to London in a 事例／患者 that goes to the heart of historic 問題／発行するs of decolonisation and 現在の questions about Britain's place in the world as it 準備するs to leave the European Union.
Mauritius' lawyer Philippe Sands said there was "no wiggle room" in the 裁判官s' 見解（をとる） and that Britain would resist 圧力 to 従う.

- 'Shameful' evictions -
A US 公式の／役人 said Washington saw the 事例／患者 as "純粋に a 二国間の／相互の 論争" between Britain and Mauritius. But he questioned the 当局 of the 法廷，裁判所, 説 that 問題／発行するs should be 解決するd through 交渉s bet ween 政府s.
"It is 不適切な to 捜し出す to use the 法廷，裁判所's （a）忠告の／（n）警報 機能（する）／行事 to settle 論争s between 明言する／公表するs," the 明言する／公表する Department 公式の／役人 said in Washington.
When 裁判官s heard the 事例／患者 in September, Mauritius argued that it was 違法な for Britain to have broken up its 領土 while it was still the 植民地の 力／強力にする.
Britain, while apologising for the "shameful" way it 立ち退かせるd thousands of islanders, 主張するd Mauritius was wrong to have brought the 事例／患者 to the ICJ.
