Puerto Rico: new 新たな展開 in leadership 危機

A political 危機 over leadership in the US Caribbean 領土 of Puerto Rico took another turn Sunday when the 指定するd 後継者 to 戦闘の準備を整えた 知事 Ricardo Rossello said she didn't want the 職業.
国務長官 Wanda Vazquez, Rossello's number two, was 始める，決める under the 憲法 to take over on August 2 as 暫定的な 知事 for the island which is gripped by a １０年間-long 後退，不況.

In the texts, Rossello and 11 other male 行政 members made fun of women, gays, 犠牲者s of ハリケーン Maria in 2017, 新聞記者／雑誌記者s and other 政治家，政治屋s.

The messages were 広範囲にわたって seen as the painful last straw for people fed up with years of 経済的な stagnation, 汚職, 政府 mismanagement and a slow and sloppy 回復 成果／努力 after Maria, which killed nearly 3,000 people in September 2017.
Some went months without running water or electricity after the 災害.

About 44 パーセント of people in the former Spanish 植民地 live in poverty.
As the 抗議するs grew in strength, Rossello わびるd and said he would not run for re-選挙 next year but 最初 辞退するd to 辞職する.
