4,000 拘留するd in Kashmir since 自治 stripped: govt sources

Thousands of people have been 拘留するd in Indian Kashmir over 恐れるs of 不安 after New Delhi stripped the 地域 of its 自治 two weeks ago, 政府 sources told AFP.
A 治安判事 speaking to AFP on 条件 of anonymity said at least 4,000 people were 逮捕（する）d and held under the Public Safety 行為／法令／行動する (PSA), a 議論の的になる 法律 that 許すs 当局 to 拘留する someone for up to two years without 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金 or 裁判，公判.

The Kashmir 政府 did not すぐに 答える／応じる to a request for comment. One 青年 had died in the 早期に days of the lockdown after he jumped into a river while 存在 chased by police.

居住（者）s living around the airport in Srinagar, where the Indian 空気／公表する 軍隊 支配（する）／統制するs 空気／公表する traffic, say 軍の 航空機 land and take off every night.
Another 安全 公式の／役人 said "thousands are 刑務所，拘置所d" but that the 人物／姿／数字 did not 含む other 居住（者）s whose 拘留，拘置s at police 駅／配置するs had not been 記録，記録的な／記録するd.
Families of those 拘留するd were 気が進まない to speak to AFP, 恐れるing they would get into trouble with 当局.
A 居住（者） who asked not to be 指名するd told AFP a shopkeeper was 逮捕（する）d にもかかわらず not taking part in 抗議するs, with a police officer telling him he was 拘留するd "because he 会談 a lot".
- Lockdown reimposed -
