Migrant brothers feel 苦痛 of Trump's 'Dreamer' 厳重取締

Jorge Benitez received the precious 文書s he needs to live and work in the US under a program that 保護するs migrants who, like him, arrived 不法に as children. His brother Bayron may never get them.
They were sent from El Salvador together as young boys, but a slight age difference 原因（となる）d a 延期する for Bayron that has left him shut out of the 文書 使用／適用 過程 無期限に／不明確に, thanks to tougher new 支配するs 問題／発行するd this week by 大統領 Donald Trump.
Like many young migrants in the same position, these two young men's lives have been a roller coaster of hope and 恐れる since 2017, when Trump tried to 終結させる the program they rely on, called Deferred 活動／戦闘 for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
"He (Trump) 扱う／治療するs us as a pawn, as a game. He's using us, our lives," said 21-year-old Jorge, who got his 決定的な Social 安全 card after 適用するing for the program in 2015.
DACA was put in place by then-大統領，／社長 Barack Obama in 2012 to regularize the 移民／移住 status of hundreds of thousands of young people, known as "Dreamers," who had arrived 不法に as children.
It has been あられ／賞賛するd by 移民／移住 支持するs as a humane approach to a 厄介な 問題／発行する, yet it has also 直面するd an existential 脅し from Trump's "America First" 大統領／総裁などの地位.
The program 要求するs applicants to be older than 15 when they 適用する -- which meant Bayron, now 17, was not old enough when his brother Jorge sent in his 使用／適用.
That question of タイミング has become a ひどく stubborn 障壁.

"It （機の）カム out of the blue," said Bayron.
Without the program, he cannot 運動 or work 合法的に, and there is the 執拗な 脅し of 国外追放 to a country he doesn't even remember.
Some 66,000 young migrants find themselves 類似して 封鎖するd by the new 支配するs, によれば the American 移民／移住 会議. About 700,000 are already under DACA's 保護.
"My brother has so much to 与える／捧げる to society," said Jorge. "Our mother doesn't want him to have a 職業 like her, where she kills herself every day for work that 支払う／賃金s very little."
- 'We had no choice' -
Their mother arrived in the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs in 2004 to escape the 血まみれの ギャング（団） 暴力／激しさ that has killed thousands. Her sons joined a year later, when they were three and five.
"We had no choice, we had to 飛行機で行く. El Salvador at the time was just 現れるing from a civil war, our country was 基本的に in 廃虚s," said Jorge.

He said the news of the 中断 of new 使用／適用s made him angry because the paperwork is expensive for migrant families working 最小限 行う 職業s.
"DACA is not cheap, families use all their 貯金 because this is hope for them," he 追加するd.

Jorge said that change would make the 使用／適用 過程 a constant 戦う／戦い and worry for hundreds of thousands of people like him.
For Jorge, the coming months -- the run up to the US 大統領の 選挙 in November -- would be 決定的な.
"I think Latinos will definitely realize, like, Trump is not doing anything that he said he was going to do for us," he said.
The 代案／選択肢 is Trump's 挑戦者, 民主党員 Joe Biden, who has ひどく 非難するd moves to end DACA.
"大統領 Trump will stop at nothing to 押し進める his anti-移民，移住（する） political 協議事項, even at the expense of young people who have grown up in this country and are Americans through and through," he said.
Biden has 約束d, if elected, to 提案する 法律制定 that would put "Dreamers" on a path to 市民権.
