Rare white diamond up for auction in Hong Kong
The 102-carat white diamond will go up for auction on October 5, 2020 in Hong Kong
A flawless 102-carat oval diamond will 長，率いる to auction on October 5 in Hong Kong at Sotheby's.
The auction house has not given an 公式の／役人 price 見積（る） for the egg-形態／調整d 石／投石する of 正確に／まさに 102.39 carats, which has the highest color grade, D, for a white diamond and is 率d Type IIA for its 化学製品 潔白 and exceptional transparency.
Quig Bruning, Sotheby's New York 長，率いる of 宝石類, said the house is "letting the market decide what the value of this diamond is."
"歴史的に, diamonds of this caliber and this size have sold anywhere from about $11 million up to $33 million," he told AFP.
"We're 申し込む／申し出ing without reserve and without 見積（る）," he said, meaning the highest 企て，努力，提案 will be the winning 企て，努力，提案 with no 最小限 price.
Only seven other white diamonds of more than 100 carats -- a carat's 集まり is equal to 0.2 grams -- and 類似の 質 have appeared at auction, five of them with Sotheby's.

Collectors will be able to start bidding on September 15, with a starting price of only one Hong Kong dollar, or 13 US cents.
"Diamonds, like anything else, aren't 免疫の to market fluctuations," Bruning said.
"That said, what we've seen in the past six months is a real 需要・要求する for 宝石類 and for gem 石／投石するs."

The gem was 削減（する） from a 271-carat rough 石／投石する di scovered in Ontario's 勝利者 地雷, in Canada, where 生産／産物 中止するd last year.
