Azerbaijan said Sunday its 軍隊s had 逮捕(する)d the 重要な town of Shusha from Armenian 分離主義者s in Nagorno-Karabakh, but Armenia 主張するd that fighting for the strategically 決定的な area was 現在進行中の.

The 逮捕(する) of Shusha would be a major victory for Azerbaijan six weeks after new fighting 爆発するd over Nagorno-Karabakh, an 民族の Armenian 飛び領土 that broke away from Azerbaijan's 支配(する)/統制する in the 1990s.

In a テレビ放送するd 演説(する)/住所 to the nation on Sunday, Azerbaijani 大統領 Ilham Aliyev 発表するd that the town had been 逮捕(する)d.

"With 広大な/多数の/重要な pride and joy, I 知らせる you that the town of Shusha has been 解放するd," said Aliyev, dressed in 軍の 疲労,(軍の)雑役s and standing in 前線 of an Azerbaijani 旗.

He said November 8 would "go 負かす/撃墜する in the history of the Azerbaijani people" as the day "we returned to Shusha".

"Our 解放 march continues. We will go to the end, until the 完全にする 解放 of the 占領するd 領土s," Aliyev said.

旗-waving Azerbaijanis celebrated in the 資本/首都 Baku after Aliyev's 告示, with cars honking their horns as 居住(者)s (人が)群がるd along city streets.

"The fighting continues in Shushi, wait and believe in our army," Armenian defence 省 公式の/役人 Artsrun Hovhannisyan said, using the Armenian 指名する for the town, すぐに after Aliyev's 告示.
