17 films to compete in pan-African festival

Seventeen films are in 競争 for the 最高の，を越す prize at Africa's 最高の，を越す cinema and TV festival next month, organisers said Thursday.
The 2021 版 of FESPACO -- the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou -- is taking place in the Burkinabe 資本／首都 from October 16-23.
It was 最初 始める，決める for February 27-March 6 but was 延期するd because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Seventeen feature-length 作品 have been chosen from の中で 1,132 入ること／参加（者）s for the festival's main 競争, 争う for the Golden Stallion of Yennenga for best film.
This year's event is a "challenge to show that にもかかわらず the health 状況／情勢 the continent continues to create, to dream, to be able to 直面する the ills that 次第に損なう our societies," the festival's director Alex Moussa Sawadogo said at a 贈呈 儀式.
The directors of the 17 films あられ／賞賛する from 15 countries across Africa, although there is just one from the host nation Burkina Faso.

Egypt has two 競争相手s, and there is one each from Angola, Cameroon, Chad, Ivory Coast, Lesotho, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, Tanzania and Tunisia.
A 17th is from Haiti -- 反映するing this year's 主題 "Cinemas of Africa and the Diaspora."
The short film 部類 含むs 29 入ること／参加（者）s, both fiction and 文書のs, with five from Burkina Faso and four from Senegal.
The television series 部類 has 17 entrants.
An international 陪審／陪審員団 長，率いるd by Mauritanian 生産者 Abderrahmane Sissako, who won フラン's coveted Cesar in 2015 for "Timbuktu", will select the prizewinner on October 23.

Burkina Faso has been 乱打するd for the past six years by jihadist attacks from 隣人ing Mali -- the epicentre of a 残虐な 暴動 that began in 2012 and has also 攻撃する，衝突する Niger.
