Taking スポットライト, ウクライナ共和国 first lady 嘆願d for more US 武器
WASHINGTON (AP) - Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska long has made （疑いを）晴らす she has no personal craving for the スポットライト. Yet on Wednesday, she stood in the U.S. （ワシントンの）連邦議会議事堂 and made the 事例／患者 for more U.S. 空気／公表する 弁護 systems to 封鎖する ロシアの ミサイルs.
She showed America´s most powerful 国会議員s stark images of the （死傷者）数 of ロシアの 砲撃 of cities on ウクライナ共和国´s children - a 血-splattered baby stroller, a small crumpled 団体／死体.
For Zelenska, spouse of 大統領 Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the 外見 capped a week in Washington that 示すd some of her highest-profile 外見s of the five-month war. The visit was also one of the first times most Americans have laid 注目する，もくろむs on her.
"We want no more airstrikes. No more ミサイル strikes," Zelenska told 共和国の／共和党のs and 民主党員s Wednesday, as an 総計費 審査する 陳列する，発揮するd the war's youngest 犠牲者s. "Is this too much to ask for?"

Zelenska worked as a scriptwriter for her husband, a comedian and actor before he won the 大統領／総裁などの地位 in 2019. They married in 2003.
Speaking to "Vogue" magazine the same year her husband was elected, Zelenska said she herself by nature was no teller of jokes, and "a 非，不，無-public person."
But as first lady, "I 設立する for myself arguments in 好意 of publicity. One of them is the 適切な時期 to draw people´s attention to important social 問題／発行するs," Zelenska said then.

She received a blue and yellow bouquet of sunflowers and hydrangea from Joe Biden on arrival at the White House for her 会合 with the U.S. first lady.

She showed photographs of a smiling, paint-smeared 4-year-old girl, Liza Dmytrieva, whom the first lady had happened to 会合，会う before Christmas.

"We've seen from Ukrainian leadership their courage but also their no-nonsense direct 控訴，上告 and laying out the 残虐な mentality of Mr. Putin," Sen. Ben Cardin, a Maryland 民主党員, said as 国会議員s walked out.
Pelosi spoke before Zelenska's 演説（する）／住所 to 述べる U.S. 国会議員s as "strong 支持者s of the Ukrainian people and admirers" of Zelenskyy's and Zelenska's leadership.
In his nightly ビデオ 演説（する）／住所 in ウクライナ共和国 on the event of his wife's speech, Zelenskyy said she would be speaking to 国会議員s "on に代わって of all Ukrainian mothers, all Ukrainian women, and it will be an important 演説（する）／住所."
In Kyiv this week, some Ukrainians said they had been に引き続いて her U.S. visit.
