J-棒's blockbuster 契約 with M's is fittingly unique
SEATTLE (AP) - Julio Rodr?guez was a few minutes late for his own party, the result of 取引，協定ing with Seattle traffic that will be part of his daily 決まりきった仕事 at home for likely the next １０年間 - and 潜在的に much longer.
When Rodr?guez arrived Saturday to discuss his 大規模な 契約 拡張, several チーム仲間s and coaches who have embraced the 21-year-old in his debut season were seated in the 支援する of the room.
"This is not about the 契約 and how long it is. I would love to be a 水夫 for the 残り／休憩（する） of my career and playing for the 水夫s fans," Rodr?guez said. "I´d love to be here for the 残り／休憩（する） of my career, play with a lot of these guys here and be managed by Scott (Servais), have Ty (フラン) as my baby sitter. I genuinely mean that. I love 存在 here."

It wasn´t lost on anyone in 出席 that Rodriguez´s 取引，協定 in Seattle almost never happened. Only a last-second 成果／努力 when Rodriguez 調印するd in July 2017 at age 16 landed him in Seattle when it seemed like the Angels were his 目的地.
"It feels very 冷静な／正味の to just 運動 around the city and see (No.) 44 jerseys," said Rodriguez, who あられ／賞賛するs from the Dominican 共和国. "And it really touched my heart because as I said, I come from a place, Loma de Cabrera, 20,000 people, and there was more people in the stands yesterday than was in my hometown. So it feels pretty special to me."

As much as the 味方するs didn´t want Saturday´s event to 焦点（を合わせる） on the 契約, it is a unique 取引，協定. The first conversations happened in 早期に July about whether Rodr?guez would be 利益／興味d in a 取引，協定 that 固く結び付けるd his 未来 in Seattle. The 返答 from his 代表者／国会議員s was that it had to be unique considering the player.
What started as a basic straightforward type 契約 and grew over the 過程 of the conversations wasn´t finished until just before the 公式の／役人 告示 on Friday night.
"We started with something that looked very basic and （機の）カム out with something that looked like hieroglyphics," Seattle 大統領，／社長 of baseball 操作／手術s Jerry Dipoto said. "But again, th e uniqueness of trying to 逮捕（する） what Julio has a chance to 達成する in his career and to be fair with him about what that could look like in the end was a challenge."

At its most straight 今後, the 取引，協定 is a $209.3 million, 12-year 契約 starting next season. It could be 価値（がある） $469.6 million over 17 years if he 勝利，勝つs two 最高殊勲選手 awards.
