World Series Notebook: Diaz no base after HBP in 10th inning
HOUSTON (AP) - Pinch-hitter Aledmys D?az was already 長，率いるing toward first base after a pitch nicked off the pad 保護するing his left 肘.
It appeared the Astros had 負担d the bases with two outs in the 底（に届く） of the 10th inning in Game 1 of the World Series. Except plate umpire James Hoye すぐに called D?az 支援する, 説 he had leaned into the inside slider from Philadelphia reliever David Robertson on 目的 and was not 存在 awarded first base.

"There was nothing I could do about it. He already called it," D?az said. "I saw something up and in. I think it was a fastball coming in. I tried to turn over."
D?az, batting for Trey Mancini, went to the plate with 走者s on first and second. Both moved up when Robertson threw a wild pitch, and it was a 2-0 count after a knuckle curve that almost 攻撃する，衝突する D?az as he ducked out of the way.
PETTIS BACK
Gary Pettis was 支援する coaching third base for the Houston Astros in Game 1 of the World Series after 行方不明の the entire American League 選手権 Series because of illness.
パン職人 said before Friday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies that Pettis was doing very 井戸／弁護士席 and had been （疑いを）晴らすd by the team doctor to return to the field.

Omar Lopez returned to coaching first base after switching to third to fill in for Pettis. 品質管理 coach Dan Firova coached first base while Pettis was out.
Pettis has also been the club´s 外野 and baserunning 指導者 since joining the Astros before the 2015 season.
The Astros have not been 明確な／細部 about the nature of the illness that kept Pettis out of the ALCS.
Pettis was 診断するd with 多重の myeloma in September 2020 and was away from the team until July 2021 while を受けるing 治療 for the 血 癌.
NO REPEAT

In a tweet on the city's 公式の／役人 account, a Houston police sergeant welcomes everyone in town for the World Series wit h a 思い出の品 that guns aren't 許すd at Minute Maid Park.
The message encouraged fans to leave their guns at home or in their hotel rooms, and also said having a car 安全な is 広大な／多数の／重要な. But it also said 3,700 guns were stolen out of cars in Houston last year.
