Musk takes over Twitter and 直面するs social マスコミ 衝突，墜落 course

Twitter's newly 造幣局d owner, the self-述べるd "解放する／自由な speech absolutist" Elon Musk, is about to get a 衝突，墜落 course on 全世界の content moderation.

The problem is, not even the world's richest man can have it both ways.

Lightly 穏健なd "解放する／自由な speech" 場所／位置s such as Gab and Parler serve as cautionary tales of what can happen when the guardrails are lowered. These small, niche 場所／位置s are popular with 保守的なs and libertarians fed up with what they see as 検閲 of their viewpoints on mainstream 壇・綱領・公約s like Facebook. They are also 十分な of Nazi imagery, 人種差別主義者 中傷するs and other extreme content, 含むing calls to 暴力／激しさ.

Some 保守的な personalities jumped on Twitter Friday after Musk's 引き継ぎ／買収 to recirculate long-debunked 共謀 theories in an 明らかな 試みる／企てる to see if the 場所／位置's 政策s on misinformation were still 存在 施行するd.

Advertisers don't want to 促進する their 製品s next to 乱すing, 人種差別主義者 and hateful 地位，任命するs - and most people don't want to spend time on 大混乱／混沌とした online spaces where they are 一斉射撃，（質問などの）連発／ダムd by 人種差別主義者 and sexist trolls.

On Friday, GM 発表するd it would be pausing advertising on Twitter while it 人物／姿／数字s out the direction of the 壇・綱領・公約 under Musk. But Lou Paskalis, former 長，率いる of マスコミ for Bank of America, said Twitter´s most loyal advertisers, many Fortune 100 companies, believe in the 壇・綱領・公約 and probably won´t leave unless "some really untoward things" happen.

But it's not just 広告s and jokes that are at 火刑／賭ける.

Eddie Perez, a former Twitter 市民の 正直さ team leader, said Musk seems to consider Twitter a 数字表示式の public square where everyone has equal 発言する／表明する. It´s a "quaint idea of the modern-day 見解／翻訳／版 of the town square," Perez said.

But that´s not how the major social マスコミ 壇・綱領・公約s work. They have instead become powerful 道具s of asymmetric 戦争, and many of their 使用者s don´t realize they are 存在 manipulated with 故意の誤報 by nation 明言する／公表するs and bad 国内の actors - many with 重要な 資源s.

"The danger here is that in the 指名する of `解放する／自由な speech,´ Musk will turn 支援する the clock and make Twitter into a more potent engine of 憎悪, divisiveness, and misinformation about 選挙s, public health 政策, and international 事件／事情／状勢s," said Paul Barrett, 副 director of the NYU St ern 中心 for 商売／仕事 and Human 権利s.

Though he'd been 推定する／予想するd to 復帰させる banned accounts - 範囲ing from 共謀 理論家 Alex Jones to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene - Musk said on Friday that no 決定／判定勝ち（する）s on content or reinstatements will be made until a "content moderation 会議" is put in place. Musk may be starting from scratch, but Twitter has spent years building up its content moderation system, which is still far from perfect.
