Hawaii 爆発 not dangerous but 申し込む/申し出s みごたえのある sight

HONOLULU (AP) - 溶岩 from Kilauea spurted high into the 空気/公表する and spread out across about 300 acres (120 ヘクタールs) of the Hawaii 火山's 首脳会議 噴火口,クレーター 床に打ち倒す, creating a みごたえのある sight as the mountain began 爆発するing again after a few weeks' hiatus.

Jillian Marohnic said the pool of 溶岩 that formed inside Halemaumau 噴火口,クレーター was "the most beautiful" she had ever seen in her 25 years of watching the 火山.

"The lake was so high. And so 十分な. It´s sparkling," said Marohnic, who operates the 火山 Hideaways vacation 賃貸しの 商売/仕事 with her husband in the nearby village of 火山.

"The surface of the lake looks like stained glass," she said.

Kilauea is one of the world's most active 火山s. This 最新の 爆発 began Thursday, いっそう少なく than one month after Kilauea and its larger neighbor Mauna Loa went 静かな. Kilauea last 爆発するd from September 2021 through 中央の-December. Mauna Loa rumbled to life for the first time in 38 years when it 爆発するd for about two weeks starting in late November.

The Hawaiian 火山 観測所 said Kilauea's 最新の 爆発 is 推定する/予想するd to remain inside the 首脳会議 噴火口,クレーター, which is within Hawaii 火山s 国家の Park and away from 居住の communities.

The 観測所 on Thursday raised Kilauea´s 警報 level, but lowered it the next morning from 警告 to watch "because the 初期の high effusion 率s are 拒絶する/低下するing, and no 組織/基盤/下部構造 is 脅すd."

That is 安心させるing to Big Island 市長 Mitch Roth. "We´re feeling pretty good about where it´s at 権利 now," he said Friday.

The beauty of the 爆発 is a big draw for 訪問者s.

John Tarson, who owns EpicLava, a 小旅行する company, said he has been "nonstop" talking to tourists who want to see the 火山.

"A lot of people were on the island and left to go do whatever else they´re doing in Hawaii and then learned about this. And now they´re コースを変更するing all their 計画(する)s and coming 支援する so that they can see this," he said.

On Thursday night, 溶岩 from Kilauea 発射 as high as 164 feet (50 メーターs) into the 空気/公表する -- 概略で as high as the width of a football field -- but most いわゆる "溶岩 fountains" were smaller, at 32 feet (10 メーターs) high.

The 噴火口,クレーター surface rose 32 feet (10 メーターs) by 7:30 p.m. Thursday as a result of all the new 溶岩 追加するd, the 観測所 said.

By morning, the 観測所 said the 溶岩 fountains lost some vigor but were 終始一貫して 16 feet (5 メーターs) high.

This is typical 行為 at the start of Kilauea 爆発s, said Matt Patrick, a geologist at the 観測所. "This is a cycle of 崩壊(する) and refilling that Kilauea has done many, many times at its 首脳会議," he said.

These 早期に days are the best time to see 溶岩 on the surface, he said.

Jody Anastasio, a spokesperson for the 国家の park, said it may be hard to see the 溶岩 during the day but there will be a glow at night and all of the park's 見解(をとる)ing areas will have good vantage points.

For Native Hawaiians, 火山の 爆発s have 深い cultural and spiritual significance. During Mauna Loa´s 爆発, many Hawaiians took part in cultural traditions, such as singing, 詠唱するing and dancing to 栄誉(を受ける) Pele, the deity of 火山s and 解雇する/砲火/射撃, and leaving offerings known as "hookupu."

Kealoha Pisciotta, a cultural practitioner who lives on the slopes of Kilauea, encouraged Hawaiians in Hawaii and beyond t o 認める akua - or gods and goddesses such as Pele, the deity of 火山s and 解雇する/砲火/射撃.

"Wherever you are, take time out today to 反映する upon them and thank them for bringing new life and new land," she said Friday.
