Evers wants to give Brewers nearly $300M to 修理 stadium
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Democratic Gov. Tony Evers wants to 手渡す the Milwaukee Brewers nearly $300 million from Wisconsin's 予算 黒字／過剰 to 制定する 修理s and 革新s at American Family Field.
The 知事's office 発表するd Tuesday that his (n)役員／(a)執行力のある 予算 will 含む $290 million from the 黒字／過剰 for stadium 修理s. In 交流 for the money, the Brewers have agreed to 延長する their 賃貸し（する） at the stadium by 13 years through 2043, the 行政 and the team said.
"As 知事, and also someone who happens to be a lifelong Brewers fan, I'm so excited about the historic 適切な時期 we have today to keep Major League Baseball here in Milwaukee for another twenty years and to 勧める in a new 世代 of Brewers fans in Wisconsin who can grow up やじ for the home team just like I did," Evers said in a 声明.
The 協定 is far from a done 取引，協定, however. 議会 （衆議院の）議長 コマドリ Vos said Tuesday he was upset that Evers didn't 協議する 共和国の／共和党のs or work with the 立法機関 on 計画（する）s to 基金 the stadium. "These are typical antics for him not 存在 a leader, but rather dictating 正確に／まさに what to do and how to do it," Vos said.
Vos said he hoped 民主党員s and 共和国の／共和党のs could work together to keep the Brewers in Wisconsin.

The money for the stadium 修理s would be a one-time cash 支払い（額） from the 明言する／公表する 黒字／過剰, which 現在／一般に stands at around $7 billion. But the 提案 is sure to reki ndle old arguments over whether 個人として owned sports teams deserve public handouts to continue operating - 特に the Brewers, who have 利益d immensely from a 物品税 that helped build the stadium.
Rick Schlesinger, the Brewers' 大統領，／社長 of 商売／仕事 操作／手術s, said in a 声明 that the stadium has had a $2.5 billion 衝撃 on the 明言する／公表する's economy since it opened in 2001 and 与える／捧げるs millions of dollars each year in 税金 歳入 to the 明言する／公表する.
"The Milwaukee Brewers are committed to working with policymakers on both 味方するs of the aisle to 延長する the life of American Family Field and help make Major League Baseball possible in Wisconsin for the next 世代," Schlesinger said. "As the smallest market as defined by the MLB, Milwaukee 要求するs a 首相 ballpark to 生成する ticket sales and compete - making 維持／整備 of the ballpark all the more 批判的な."
The stadium opened in 2001 as Miller Park, 取って代わるing the Milwaukee's 高齢化 郡 Stadium. The construction price tag was about $392 million, 基金d 大部分は through a 0.1% 物品税 課すd in Milwaukee 郡 and the four other 郡s surrounding the stadium.
