明言する／公表するs 捜し出す ways to 抑制（する） deadly 主要道路 wrong-way 衝突，墜落s
BOSTON (AP) - As Connecticut 明言する／公表する Rep. Quentin Williams was 運動ing home from the 知事's 就任（式）／開始 ball last month, he was struck 長，率いる-on by a driver who had entered the 主要道路 using a ramp going in the wrong direction, 殺人，大当り both Williams and the driver.
Williams' death threw a スポットライト on a 肉親，親類d of car 事故 that is 特に deadly: wrong-way 衝突，墜落s. Each year in the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs, they result in 400 to 500 deaths によれば 連邦の 主要道路 行政官／管理者s.
"He was the life of every party. He had an 感染性の happiness about him. He knew everybody and if he didn´t, he would find a way to know them," said 明言する／公表する Sen. Connecticut is 捜し出すing to join a growing number of 明言する／公表するs, 含むing Massachusetts, trying to 抑制（する） the frequency of deadly wrong-way 主要道路 衝突／不一致s by turning to new 衝突，墜落 予防 科学（工学）技術s.
A $2.6 million 操縦する program in Massachusetts 捜し出すs to discourage wayward drivers by 任命する／導入するing wrong-way 乗り物 （犯罪，病気などの）発見 systems at 主要道路 ramps.
When the system （悪事，秘密などを）発見するs a car entering a ramp in the wrong direction it 始める，決めるs off flashing lights, 調印するs and, at some 場所s, audible alarms to 警報 the driver.
"It gives you an 適切な時期 to 攻撃する，衝突する the ブレーキs, realize you´ve gone in the wrong direction and turn around, " said Massachusetts 主要道路 行政官／管理者 Jonathan Gulliver.
If the driver continues にもかかわらず the 警告 system, 明言する／公表する police receive a notice of a possible wrong-way driver. The 主要道路 操作／手術s 中心 is also 通知するd so they can すぐに 活動させる／戦時編成する message boards on the roadway to let other 運転者s know someone might be 運動ing in the wrong direction toward them.

Most wrong-way 衝突，墜落s that result in a fatality occur at night, when it´s harder to see 調印するs. A disproportionate number also happen on the 週末, which could 同時に起こる／一致する with 増加するd alcohol 消費.
"When wrong-way driver 衝突，墜落s happen they 一般に lead to fatalities. They are some of the most deadly 衝突，墜落s we have, 特に when they´re on the interstates 伴う／関わるing high 速度(を上げる）," Gulliver said.
Last July, a 衝突，墜落 伴う／関わるing a wrong-way car on an interstate in northern Illinois left seven people dead, 含むing five children. In November, five people, 含むing two children, were killed in Alabama when their car entered the 主要道路 going the wrong way and 攻撃する，衝突する an 18-wheeler.
