Dangerous 嵐/襲撃するs, トルネード,竜巻s may 的 Midwest, South

A seemingly relentless 一連の 厳しい 嵐/襲撃するs, likely with deadly トルネード,竜巻s, are 予測(する) to 引き裂く across parts of America´s Midwest and South over the next couple weeks, 特に Friday, 気象学者s said.

An unusual 天候 pattern has 始める,決める in, last week 誘発する/引き起こすing the 破滅的な トルネード,竜巻 that 攻撃する,衝突する Rolling Fork, Mississippi, and 気象学者s 恐れる this Friday will be one of the worst days, with much more to come. The 国家の 天候 Service said 16.8 million people live in the highest 危険 zone, and more than 66 million people 全体にわたる should be on 警報 Friday.

"It´s pretty darn (疑いを)晴らす that somebody is going to take it on the nose on Friday," said Northern Illinois meteorology professor and トルネード,竜巻 専門家 and chaser 勝利者 Gensini. "It´s just a 事柄 of where and 正確に/まさに when."

The 天候 service is 警告を与えるing a large area of the country - 含むing parts of Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, West Virginia, Georgia and Kansas - to be 警報 for 激しい 雷雨s, トルネード,竜巻s and other 損失ing 勝利,勝つd. Big cities in the highest danger area 含む Memphis, St. Louis, Des Moines and Little 激しく揺する.

Gensini 恐れるs Friday´s 猛攻撃 will be deadly.

The 嵐/襲撃するs are 推定する/予想するd to start Friday afternoon and go 夜通し, which is 特に dangerous because people can't see them coming and often won't 捜し出す 避難所, 天候 s ervice 嵐/襲撃する 予測 中心 警告 調整 気象学者 Matt Elliott said Wednesday.

"The 嵐/襲撃するs will be moving very quickly," Elliott said. "So you won't have a lot of time to 反応する to 警告s 同様に. So now's the time to start 準備するing."

Though all the 成分s are there for dangerous 嵐/襲撃するs, it's possible they may not 連合させる 正確に enough to 提起する/ポーズをとる the 脅し that 気象学者s are 警告 about, Elliott and others said.

Another (製品,工事材料の)一回分 of 厳しい 嵐/襲撃するs, 力/強力にするd by a "firehose" of 安定性のない waves in the atmosphere that keep flowing from the 冷淡な west and 連合させる with moist 空気/公表する from the east, could 攻撃する,衝突する next Tuesday and the next few days after that, said Walker Ashley, another meteorology professor at Northern Illinois and Gensini´s 嵐/襲撃する-chasing partner.

"You could see these things coming days in 前進する," Ashley said. They will be "continual punches, one, two, three, four."

The 天候 service is already 予測(する)ing another (製品,工事材料の)一回分 of 激しい 嵐/襲撃するs next Tuesday in the same general area as Friday with 公正に/かなり high 信用/信任, Elliott said.

At least the first 10 days of April will be rough, said Accuweather 気象学者 Brandon Buckingham.

The 現在の 執拗な pattern of 嵐/襲撃する 成分s reminds Gensini of the April 2011 トルネード,竜巻 猛攻撃 that killed 363 people in six 明言する/公表するs, hitting Alabama hardest. That was one of the largest, deadliest and most destructive トルネード,竜巻 突発/発生s in American history, the 天候 service said.

Even before Friday, "it's been the most active we've seen in several years'' starting around last Novem ber, with a large number of winter 嵐/襲撃するs through this year, Elliott said. The deadly 嵐/襲撃するs that 攻撃する,衝突する Rolling Fork were part of that pattern.

Buckingham and the other 気象学者s said 現在の 条件s come along only once every few years to create the 可能性のある for a train of supercells, which spawn the worst of the トルネード,竜巻s and 損失ing あられ/賞賛する.

Central to this is a 急速な/放蕩な-moving rollercoaster-like jet stream, the 転換ing river of 空気/公表する that moves 天候 systems, such as 嵐/襲撃するs, from west to east. On the west 味方する of the jet stream is extreme 冷淡な 空気/公表する and to the east, parked off Florida and Caribbean, is a very warm and 乾燥した,日照りの high-圧力 system.

"When you 肉親,親類d of 連合させる the two it 肉親,親類d makes those hairs on the 支援する of your neck stand up," Buckingham said. "The 成分s are here. They're primed に向かって the extreme end of things."

追加する to that the 湾 of Mexico, which 供給するs moisture heat and energy for 嵐/襲撃するs, is 概略で 2 to 5 degrees (1 to 1.5 degrees Celsius) warmer than 普通の/平均(する) or more, 気象学者s said - "on 解雇する/砲火/射撃," as Ashley put it.

"The 付加 warmth and 湿度 really get these 雷雨s 解雇する/砲火/射撃ing up," Buckingham said.

The worst 天候 will be "underneath the 衝突/不一致ing'' of hot and 冷淡な 空気/公表する, a battleground of sort, Gensini said. Friday's lunchtime 予測(する) at 嵐/襲撃する Lake, Iowa, is around 67 degrees (19 degrees Celsius) but just 140 miles (225 キロメーターs) to the northwest, Brookings, South Dakota is 予測(する) to be barely above 氷点の.

"The greater the 気温 gradient, the stronger the 嵐/襲撃する systems are," Gensini said.

The 勝利,勝つd twirling at opposite directi ons on the west and east of the jet stream battleground 追加する to the problem, the 気象学者s said.

Ashley said 現在の 条件s are mostly 無作為の 天候 variability, though he said the hotter 湾 of Mexico and human-原因(となる)d 気候 change may have made a small 出資/貢献.

"These events have always occurred," Ashley said. "The question is are we turning the knob a little bit by 与える/捧げるing more moisture, more heat, more 不安定?"
