訴訟: Mississippi 侵害する／違反するs 権利s by 任命するing 裁判官s

JACKSON, 行方不明になる. (AP) - Mississippi is 侵害する／違反するing its own 憲法 with a new 法律 that 要求するs some 裁判官s to be 任命するd rather than elected in the 明言する／公表する's 資本／首都 city and its surrounding 郡, civil 権利s groups said in a 訴訟 とじ込み／提出するd Monday.

It is the second 訴訟 since 共和国の／共和党の Gov. Tate Reeves 調印するd 法案s Friday to 拡大する 明言する／公表する policing in Jackson, to 設立する a 地裁 with an 任命するd 裁判官 and to 権限を与える four 任命するd 裁判官s to work と一緒に the four elected 回路・連盟 法廷，裁判所 裁判官s in Hinds 郡, which is home to Jackson.

About 83% of 居住（者）s in Jackson and 74% in Hinds 郡 are 黒人／ボイコット, and both the city and the 郡 are 治める／統治するd by 民主党員s. The new 法律s were passed by the 大多数-white and 共和国の／共和党の-controlled 明言する／公表する House and 上院 over the 反対s of most Jackson 国会議員s and many 地元の 居住（者）s.

The new 訴訟 was とじ込み／提出するd Monday in Hinds 郡 Chancery 法廷，裁判所 on に代わって of three 居住（者）s by the NAACP 合法的な 弁護 基金, the Mississippi 中心 for 司法（官）, the ACLU of Mississippi and the MacArthur 司法（官） 中心. It says the Mississippi 憲法 要求するs most 裁判官s to be elected.

The 任命するd 回路・連盟 法廷，裁判所 裁判官s are to be chosen by 早期に May and would not be 要求するd to live in Hinds 郡. In 2020 and 2022, 長，指導者 司法（官） マイク Randolph 任命するd retired 裁判官s from other parts of the 明言する／公表する to help with a backlog of 事例／患者s in Hinds 郡 回路・連盟 法廷，裁判所. The new 任命するd 回路・連盟 裁判官s would work through 2026.
