From Brazil's アマゾン to bossa nova and beyond, prolific ピアニスト Jo?o Donato dies at 88

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) - Brazilian 作曲家 and ピアニスト Jo?o Donato, who helped lay the 基礎 for bossa nova but throughout his career 反抗するd confinement to any 選び出す／独身 genre, died Monday. He was 88.

Donato was born in the Amazonian 明言する／公表する of Acre on Brazil´s western 国境, far from the cultural 中心s of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. He showed prodigious musical ability as a boy upon receiving an accordion as a Christmas gift and soon after his family moved to Rio began playing professionally.

He floated between two 競争相手 jazz fan clubs, playing at both, making 接触するs and leaving an impression. He began 記録，記録的な／記録するing with ensembles and his own compositions.
