LONDON (AP) - Two 気候 change 抗議する人s were 逮捕（する）d Monday after they 粉砕するd a 保護の glass パネル盤 covering a famous Diego Vel?zquez oil 絵 at London's 国家の Gallery, police said Monday.
The two 行動主義者s from the group Just Stop Oil 的d Vel?zquez's "The 洗面所 of Venus," also known as "The Rokeby Venus," with small 大打撃を与えるs. Photos showed the 保護の glass パネル盤 穴をあけるd with several 穴を開けるs.
Just Stop Oil, which has 以前 led 類似の 抗議するs 的ing famous artworks and public buildings, said Monday's 活動／戦闘 was to 需要・要求する Britain's 政府 すぐに 停止（させる） all licensing for the 探検, 開発 and 生産／産物 of 化石 燃料s in the U.K.
The group said Monday that the two 行動主義者s chose to 的 Vel?zquez's 17th-century oil 絵, one of the Spanish artist's most celebrated masterpieces, because it was 以前 削除するd as part of the suffragette movement calling for women's 権利s in 1914.

Police said the two were 逮捕（する）d on 疑惑 of 犯罪の 損失. The 国家の Gallery said the 絵 has been 除去するd from 陳列する，発揮する so conservators can 診察する it.
"The pair appeared to strike ` The 洗面所 of Venus´ (`The Rokeby Venus´) by Vel?zquez with what appeared to be 緊急 救助（する） 大打撃を与えるs. The room was （疑いを）晴らすd of 訪問者s and police were called," the museum said in a 声明.

Police said officers also 逮捕（する）d dozens of other Just Stop Oil 抗議する人s on Monday who were "slow marching" and 妨害するing traffic in central London's Whitehall as part of their civil disobedience 戦略.
Last year two 行動主義者s threw two cans of tomato soup over Vincent 先頭 Gogh´s "Sunflowers," also at the 国家の Gallery, to 抗議する 化石 燃料 extraction. They did not 損失 the 絵, which was covered with glass.
