Chicago and other northern US cities 緊急発進する to house migrants with coldest 天候 just ahead
CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago is 緊急発進するing to house hundreds of 亡命-探検者s who are still 避難所ing on sidewalks, at police 駅／配置するs and at the city's busiest airport as the 冷淡な 天候 始める，決めるs in and with winter just around the corner.
The country's third-largest city 発表するd a 共同 with 宗教的な leaders this week to house 400 of the migrants in churches. But with nighttime 気温s dropping below 氷点の and chillier 条件s still ahead, more than 1,000 were still living at police 駅／配置するs or at O'Hare International Airport as of Friday, によれば the city dashboard.
"As winter 急速な／放蕩な approaches, our need for greater 共同 and 調整 grows. And that is why we are 動員するing Chicago´s 約束 community and our partners in the philanthropic community to 会合，会う this moment," 市長 Brandon Johnson said at a news 会議／協議会 発表するing the 共同.
More than 23,000 亡命-探検者s have been bused to Chicago from Texas since the start of the year, によれば the city. Other Democratic-led cities are grappling with 類似の influxes, 含むing Denver, Houston, Los Angeles and New York, which has received more than 120,000 亡命-探検者s.

Alderwoman Julia Ramirez, who 代表するs the 区 on the City 会議, said she …に反対するs the 事業／計画（する） 予定 to safety 関心s for her 選挙権を持つ／選挙人s and the migrants.
"I will 喜んで 避難所 and welcome 亡命-探検者s. But I think that we 港／避難所´t done it in a very dignified and humane way," Ramirez told The Associated 圧力（をかける）.

Yimara Pajaro, a Venezuelan seamstress, said she and her partner had been （軍の）野営地，陣営ing outside a South 味方する police 駅／配置する for two months until they were moved Wednesday to a church 近づく Washington Park as part of the 約束 community's resettlement 率先.
Sleeping outside in Chicago, which has had several 降雪s and subfreezing nights this 落ちる, left them in bad 形態／調整, said Pajaro, who 苦しむd three 喘息 attacks より悪くするd by the 冷淡な.

Although Pajaro said she had no choice in whether to leave the police 駅／配置する, she feels 感謝する to be staying at the church. "At first we didn't want to leave because we didn't know where they would take us," she said.
The 約束-led 住宅 率先 will prioritize 妊娠している women, children, and those who have been sleeping outside, によれば Johnson. The churches 計画（する） to host people for 60 days with the goal of 移行ing them to 独立した・無所属 living or another 避難所 afterward, によれば 牧師 Torrey Barrett of Life 中心 Church, which welcomed 40 migrants, 含むing Pajaro, on Wednesday.
Pajaro said she wouldn't want to move to a 避難所 designed to 持つ／拘留する thousands of people, like the one planned for Brighton Park. And if the 場所／位置 is 汚染するd, "they should not bring anyone there," she said. "We will get sick. It seems like our health doesn't 事柄 to them."
The city had hoped to move the migrants out of police 駅／配置するs by Dec. 1, but it wasn't able to do so, Ramirez said. But if the Brighton Park 避難所 is built, the city might be able to （疑いを）晴らす them out in the next few weeks, she said.
The 市長s of Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles and New York have been 圧力（をかける）ing for more 連邦の 援助（する） to を取り引きする the 殺到する. Migrants have been arriving in the 民主党員-led cities on buses 基金d by the 共和国の／共和党の 知事s of Texas and Florida. Critics 最初 waved off the 成果／努力 as a political stunt, but more than a year later, the cities are struggling to 対処する with the influx and their 資源s are dwindling.
The 状況／情勢 is even more 圧力（をかける）ing in New York than in Chicago. New York has received more than 120,000 亡命 探検者s over the past year, and about half of them are staying in 避難所s run by the city, which is 合法的に 要求するd to 供給する 緊急 住宅 to homeless people.
