Ilia Malinin takes men´s world 人物／姿／数字 skating 栄冠を与える in 記録，記録的な／記録する 業績／成果

MONTREAL (AP) - American 人物／姿／数字 skating 星／主役にする Ilia Malinin is a world 支持する／優勝者 - and a world-記録，記録的な／記録する 支えるもの／所有者.

Malinin put on a 支配的な 陳列する，発揮する that 含むd a jaw-dropping six quad jumps - 含むing his 特許d quad axel - to 行き詰まり，妨げる the men´s （テニスなどの）シングルス 栄冠を与える Saturday night at the world 選手権s.

"I knew that this could be the best skate of my life," Malinin said. "Or it could go terribly wrong."

After placing third in Thursday´s short program, the 19-year-old 得点する／非難する／２０d a world-記録，記録的な／記録する 227.79 in the 解放する／自由な program while skating to the "Succession" soundtrack to bring his total to 333.76 - more than 20 points than the 残り／休憩（する） of the field.

Olympic 支持する／優勝者 Nathan Chen, also of the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs, 始める，決める the previous 解放する／自由な program 記録，記録的な／記録する of 224.92 in 2019.

Malinin dropped to the ice in 不信 after 現在のing his sheer 運動競技のs to a rowdy Bell Centre （人が）群がる that 元気づけるd and clapped the whole way.

"To hear the （人が）群がる go wild when I didn´t even finish my program yet is just an incredible experience," Malinin said. "It was so amazing to me. I couldn´t even 持つ／拘留する myself up, it was just that emotional to me."

He dethroned two-time defending world 支持する／優勝者 Shoma Uno of Japan, who fell to fourth at 280.85 after 行方不明の two quad jumps to start his program.

Yuma Kagiyama of Japan was second at 309.65 and Adam Siao Him Fa of フラン （人命などを）奪う，主張するd the bronze at 284.39. Siao Him Fa climbed from 19th to third with an awe-奮起させるing 陳列する，発揮する of his own, which 含むd a backflip.

Earlier Saturday, 2022 Olympic 支持する／優勝者s Madison Chock and Evan Bates of the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs defended their ice dance world 肩書を与える with a season-best total 得点する／非難する／２０ of 222.20.

Canada´s Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier finished second at 219.68 and Italy´s Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri were third at 216.52.

It´s Montreal´s first time hosting the event since 1932. The city was supposed to 行う／開催する／段階 the 2020 選手権 but the COVID-19 pandemic shut 負かす／撃墜する the 競争.

Boston will 持つ／拘留する the 2025 競争.
