KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) ― Across Afghanistan, 投票者s turned out in droves Saturday to cast 投票(する)s in a 決定的な 大統領の 選挙.

The Taliban 脅すd to 的 投票者s and 投票ing places, but there were few instances of 暴力/激しさ. Instead, those wanting to cast 投票(する)s joined long lines and 表明するd pride for 安全 軍隊s guarding the 選挙 and a 乗り気 to stand up for their country.

"There was a time when we could not even think of 危険ing our lives for one 投票(する)," said Abdul Baki, a 36-year-old 政府 従業員 in Kandahar. "But now with this 安全 so tight, I can 明確に see the value of these 投票(する)s and I hope that this 選挙 will be fair."

Women also turned out in large numbers.

"I 投票(する)d so I can 保証(人) the 未来 of my country," said 18-year-old Fatima Mortazayee in Kabul. "By 投票(する)ing, we can build our country."

The 投票(する) will decide who will 取って代わる 大統領 Hamid Karzai, who is 閉めだした constitutionally from 捜し出すing a third 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語. 部分的な/不平等な results are 推定する/予想するd as soon as Sunday.
