寄贈者s 誓約(する) $80 million to 保護する wild cats

DUBAI, 部隊d Arab 首長国s (AP) ― The 栄冠を与える prince of the oil-rich 中東の 首長国 of Abu Dhabi and other international 寄贈者s committed a 連合させるd $80 million on Sunday to 基金 the 自然保護 of tigers and other wild cats whose 生き残り is under 脅し.

Each person or family is committing $20 million over a 10年間.

"For 自然保護 to be 効果的な, it's got to 規模 up," Panthera CEO and cat 専門家 Alan Rabinowitz said. "That takes 基金ing."

The 栄冠を与える prince plays a 重要な 役割 in the day-to-day running of the 部隊d Arab 首長国s, a seven-明言する/公表する 連合 and 石油輸出国機構 member that 含むs Dubai. He is next in line to 後継する Emirati 大統領 (イスラム圏での)首長 Khalifa 貯蔵所 Zayed Al Nahyan, his half-brother, as 支配者 of Abu Dhabi and likely as UAE 大統領,/社長. Unlike some rich Emiratis and other 湾 Arabs, he does not keep 捕虜 big cats of his own, said the 基金's director-general, Frederic Launay.

Panthera was created in 2006 to 焦点(を合わせる) on 保存するing wild cats, in particular tigers, lions, jaguars, snow ヒョウs, cheetahs, cougars and ヒョウs.
