Slovyansk struggles 支援する after 反逆者/反逆するs are 大勝するd

SLOVYANSK, ウクライナ共和国 (AP) ― For the first time in three months, Alla Grebenkova says she can go out on the streets of this city in eastern ウクライナ共和国 without 恐れる of 存在 認めるd as Ukrainian.

"I lived in hell. It was 完全にする 大混乱 and lawlessness," the 68-year-old teacher said of life in Slovyansk after it (機の)カム under the 支配(する)/統制する of プロの/賛成の-Russia 分離主義者s in April. "I was afraid to 収容する/認める that I am Ukrainian. Finally, this absurdity has ended."

The 反逆者/反逆するs fled Slovyansk, a city of 100,000 that had been their 要塞/本拠地, over the 週末 as Ukrainian 軍隊/機動隊s 機動力のある an 不快な/攻撃. They left behind a city ひどく 損失d by fighting and riven by 熱心に 異なるing 見解(をとる)s.

大統領 Petro Poroshenko made a surprise visit to Slovyansk on Tuesday and 発表するd that electricity was 存在 回復するd after the city went weeks without 力/強力にする, water or gas. Its hospital was operating on electricity 供給(する)d by portable 発生させる人(物)s, and 長,指導者 外科医 Arkady Glushchenko said Monday that ガソリン for those 批判的な machines was in danger of running out soon.

Poroshenko also 約束d that all schools would be 修理d by the first day of classes on Sept. 1, 説 children going to school would be "a symbol of peace."

The 政府 兵士s may have won the 戦う/戦い for the physical city but not yet for its people's hearts and minds.

Many 居住(者)s in Slovyansk feel ロシアの by all 対策 except their パスポートs. The city, 150 キロメーターs (90 miles), from the 国境 with Russia, had once been part of the ロシアの Empire and ロシアの is its 支配的な mother tongue. 憤慨 is high toward the Ukrainian 当局 who (機の)カム into 力/強力にする in Kiev after Russia-friendly 大統領 Viktor Yanukovych fled in February after months of 集まり 抗議するs.

Dmitry Novikov, like the teacher Grebenkova, is relieved that the fighting in Slovyansk is over ― yet for him, it's not 解放 but 失敗 and 失望. The 分離主義者s and their sympathizers were eager for ロシアの 軍の 介入 and had begged ロシアの 大統領 Vladimir Putin to 別館 the 地域 like he did the mostly ロシアの-speaking Crimean 半島 in March.

"Russia sold us out," the 56-year-old Novikov said. "We lost because Putin decided not to help us. We feel ourselves deceived and 投げ上げる/ボディチェックするd aside."

"We will never be reconciled with the 国粋主義者/ファシスト党員s in Kiev," he 追加するd, using the ありふれた phrase プロの/賛成の-Russia 居住(者)s here 適用する to the central 政府 in Kiev.

Those easterners (人命などを)奪う,主張する the Kiev 政府 目的(とする)s to 抑える their use of the ロシアの language and wipe out their 民族の 身元. In the 早期に days of the new 政府, 国会議員s did 投票(する) to 廃止する a 法律 許すing ロシアの to be a "地域の language." The move was quashed by the 事実上の/代理 大統領,/社長 but the 損失 was done: ロシアの-(衆議院の)議長s lost 約束 in Kiev.

Grebenkova says the 謀反のs were just as much to 非難する for the 民族の animosity. Her sister, Olga, was held for more than a month by the 分離主義者s just for using the Ukrainian language, she said.

"This is our Ukrainian land and it will remain Ukrainian," she 宣言するd.

There are 厳しい physical scars to 傷をいやす/和解させる in Slovyansk 同様に as psychological ones from the 猛烈な/残忍な 戦う/戦いs that led to the city 存在 再度捕まえるd. Although most of the city's buildings are still standing, many 苦しむd 損失.

"My house is no more. I live on the street," said 54-year-old Nataliya Manzello. "The Ukrainian 当局 must be held accountable for all the 損失. They 破壊するd the city to the ground."

Grebenkova said an 大砲 爆撃する 爆破d away part of her apartment and she was 軍隊d to take 避難所 in a 地階 with friends.

Not a 選び出す/独身 蓄える/店 was open in Slovyansk on Monday and the only source of food was the 人道的な 援助(する) 存在 brought in by 兵士s. It was a 一時しのぎの物,策 soluti on, but for many it was a step toward normal life.

"My daughter ate her fill for the first time in months and slept in her bed rather than the 地階," said Olga Hitrik, 35.

She spoke as she held the 手渡す of her 10-year-old daughter, who was clutching a five-リットル 瓶/封じ込める of water.

"For me this is happiness, " Hitrik said. "I want to forget everything like a nightmare. Now I know that my daughter will live in ウクライナ共和国."
