Pennsylvania 告訴するd by US over police fitness 実験（する）s
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) ― The 連邦の 政府 告訴するd Pennsylvania on Tuesday over physical fitness 実験（する）s given to applicants for 明言する／公表する 州警察官，騎馬警官 positions, 捜し出すing a stop to a practice that it said 不法に 差別するs against women.
The 司法（官） Department's 10-page 訴訟 was とじ込み／提出するd in 連邦の 法廷，裁判所 in Harrisburg. A spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania 明言する／公表する Police said Tuesday evening that the 機関's lawyers had not seen the 訴訟 yet and could not comment on it.
The Pennsylvania 明言する／公表する Police is one of the nation's largest police 軍隊s. With 4,677 sworn members, it 供給するs 保護 to much of Pennsylvania.
The 訴訟 said the use of the 実験（する）s to 審査する and select the applicants for the 入ること／参加（者）-level positions 量d to a pattern of 雇用 差別. Much greater 百分率s of male applicants than 女性（の） applicants passed the physical fitness 実験（する）s going 支援する to 2003, it said.
As a result, the 明言する／公表する police had failed to 雇う dozens of women for 入ること／参加（者）-level 州警察官，騎馬警官 positions on an equal basis with men, it said.
Had 女性（の） applicants passed the 実験（する） at the same 率 as men between 2003 and 2012, だいたい 119 付加 women would have 長所d その上の consideration for the 職業s and だいたい 45 more would have been 雇うd as 入ること／参加（者）-level 州警察官，騎馬警官s, the 司法（官） Department said.

A 実験（する） begun in 2003 consisted of a 300-メーター run, sit-ups, 押し進める-ups, a vertical jump and a 1.5-mile run, the 訴訟 said. The 実験（する） carried 削減（する）-off 得点する／非難する／２０s for each of the five events, and the 明言する／公表する police 要求するd that applicants pass each event, it said.
From 2003 to 2008, 94 パーセント of male applicants passed the fitness 実験（する）, while 71 パーセント of 女性（の） applicants passed. Under a 類似の 実験（する） 治めるd in 2009 through 2012, 98 パーセント of male applicants passed, while 72 パーセント of 女性（の） applicants passed, the 訴訟 said.
The 司法（官） Department 告訴するd the city of Corpus Christi, Texas, in 2012, with 類似の 主張s. The city settled the 訴訟 last year, 認可するing a $700,000 解決／入植地 for 女性（の） police applicants who had failed the 実験（する）. Corpus Christi police also agreed to stop using the 実験（する） and 雇う 18 women who did not pass the 実験（する）, but were considered 適格の to be officers.
